I dedicate this as a thank you to all my puzzler friends behind and in front of the puzzles:
The Jigsaw Puzzle Polka
by Pixipixil

Grab a picture that's exciting
Or a scene you find inviting.
Tho' the weather there's a bummer
You're in Fiji and it's summer.

If the edges don't seem easy
Start wherever it seems breezy
You can race to ace the best time
Or while the hours away.

Every time you place a piece and hear it click
All the world seems right. And if you're feeling sick
It takes your mind off all your pain.
Somehow it Novocains your brain.
If you wake up feeling like your legs are lead
And you wish you could spend this whole day in bed,
Just grab a puzzle and begin.
You'll wake up gently from within.

My prescription for what ails you
Is a puzzle never fails you.
Getting done is not the ending.
There are messages for sending.

There's a fam'ly who'll be chatting
All-supportive not combatting
Except with prayers for chasing
Your demons far away.

Thanks Aussie and nlb; I had a good time making it up. It goes to an actual polka song.

Wow. I have been looking all over to tell you which polka song but cannot find it. It used to be as popular as Roll Out the Barrel and the PA polka but I have listened to scores of polkas now and nobody plays that one any more. Wish I knew the name of it. I even tried Lawrence Welk and 1950's polkas but had no luck. Oh well. Make up your own polka music to go with it.

I found it. It's the Beer Barrel Polka minus the "roll out the barrel" bridge...That's why I didn't know where to get it because I remembered the roll out the barrel part and didn't associate the rest with of it.

Hi there pixipixil and/or CatladyOKC, I've never saved a puzzle in a file. How do you do that? Thanks for the help. Have a great day. It's pouring rain here in central FL, lots of thunder and lightning. Just staying in and doing puzzles. :)

I don't save the puzzle, just the infomation-set up an excel book so I could keep info on my times and what puzzles I had done, etc. (also have one for the book I've read & my garden layout and info.)

PS. I do save some on the site, leave a few pieces out until I want to use them then pull then out of my saved puzzles. I keep track of them too in my excel file.

You are so organized, Catlady. I really should keep track of the books I've "read." Actually I listen on disc. I forget and kick myself especially when I want to tell some one a book was really good and can't remember the title.

Pixipixl: Set this excel file up about 2007 works great have columns for author last name, first name, title, Month/year read book, type of book, copyright date, were I got the book or brand, ISBN #. Also have a wish list of ones that I have seen or heard about that I would like to read, with info I have on it at the time & I can go to the library later & pick up more info so I can find a copy to read. (I mark also in the media type in the type column - fic-s/pls/dl - means fiction/suspense/local library/download.) That way I can find it later on if for some reason I want to read it again....I have over 2 thousand entries.

Good grief. That's a lot of reading! I used to have the Word suite with Excell but got a new iMac and didn't want to spend the dough for another so I am using a free program. It's called Open Office and I haven't tried any part of it that matches Excel spreadsheets. Sounds like you really know how to use Excel.

Still have some problems with it, the classes I took were all before windows, they were all dos programs, but my son uses excel with his work so he can usually get me an answer if I have a problem. My first computer was a Commodor, this is my 4th computer - son built the 3rd one. Hope to get a new one later this year & hubby can take over this one. Since the '89 one finally gave out.

Oh yeah. Those original warhorses really lasted compared to today's junk. My first computer was a Mac Classic. After I got a second hand Performa so I could use the internet my husband took over the classic. The next thing was an iMac.
I'm now on the third one of those. The last one works but the monitor has so many lines in it it's like fabric unraveling.

I find that when I get the feeling I need to write something, that the words just seem to flow. I know it's God, because it always blesses someone, and almost always some person will come up to me and say that's just what they needed to hear today. I think it must be that way with you also. You're blessed! :)

Thank you rahrah and dbnc. It's great to know somehow something good comes out of what I do. When you do mostly artistic things it sometimes feels like you are in a vacuum just amusing yourself. It's folks like you that keep us artists going.

There used to be a drive-through zoo near Springfield, Missouri - it might still be there for all I know. We went there once in the early 70's, the first animals that we came upon where several ostriches. They obviously knew that the cars that came had just received a bag of food. The driver's side window of our VW bus had peck marks all over it from their trying to stick their heads into our car for the food.

Love ostriches - they are such gloriously goofy-looking birds! And did you know, if you want to avoid being kicked by them - stand behind them, because they kick forwards!!
