Looks like the way the middle section of NY would be 20 years ago. Frankly, I do not miss the ridiculous amount of snow that used to blanket our upstate area by this time of the year. In the summer, climate change is not enjoyable in this area. But the lessening of snowfall is a welcome change for those of us who have trudged through below freezing winter conditions in decades past.

More Aussie yarns

Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia?

A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Aus- tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the pacific which does
not … oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked.

Which direction is North in Australia?

A: Face south and then turn 90 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.

Can I bring cutlery into Australia?

A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule?

A: Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which is…oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Kings Cross, straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

Dear cannj - not jokes, actual transcript of things people have been asked here. You probably get the same thing where you live. I know when I went to live in North America I thought all families lived as they did in "Leave it to Beaver" lol. Hugs.

Hi Jan, yes they are real conversations people in information centres have had and I don't know how they keep a straight face and come up with the answers they do!! When I lived in North America for eight years I found that a lot of people knew very little about Australia. One lady asked me how long I had been there and I said four months. Her response was "you speak very good English for having been here such a short time" hahahah (the only language I know) and another thought Australia was in South America, maybe she was thinking about Argentina!! Hugs.

A winter wonderland indeed. where is the big inner tube to slide on down that perfect hill? At this age I guess I would be better of watching the kids sliding down the hill. I never had good enough coordination to stay on my feet on skis. Never was around enough snow to really learn how to play in it properly.

God bless you all and may each day teach you some new fun thing to do.
