Probably WOULD love to get outside for awhile in the fresh air. If the kitty is good, maybe the owner will give it some time outdoors on a leash so it won't get lost.
All my cats go outside if they want to, and come in the cat door. They have a good sized 2nd floor porch with padded boxes and a large shelf in front of windows. During winter months they usually stay in except for short jaunts onto the porch. They were born free and they are still free.

Mine too. All cats were born to roam free outside. That is why cats don't have leash laws. I feel so sad seeing all those kitties sitting at windows longing to go outside to explore.
