I've never seen mushrooms like this before the red ones are beautiful!

I was up in north Wisconsin many years ago and got to walk around the woods that were there and I found, and left alone, bright red mushrooms, or something else, I am pretty ignorant about these things. They were so beautiful and the first time I had seen red mushrooms. Have a blessed day and share the bounty God has given us!

Good thing you left them alone, nhoward! This is the fly amanita, the most poisonous mushroom known. This single species, amanita muscaria, is said to be responsible for 50% of all deaths from mushroom poisoning. It's also called the "death cap".

All I did is take pictures because I didn't want to spoil how pretty they were there! I was going to pick them and then thought why take mushrooms from where they were growing.......God protects the innocents! Thank you for the information, jdoty! If I ever see one again, I will be careful and I will leave it alone!

I have a friend that says anything natural is good for you. I always remind her of this mushroom when she says that.

The red one is new to me! And the other one resembles a sweet potato!

Lovely to look at but if you have no knowledge of the types of mushrooms that are edible you might be well enough to not touch them. Great puzzle.
