Reminds me of a shoe storage unit you could buy for your closet to keep your shoes neat. I found this one confusing. I can only imagine what the construction crew thought. I guess the orange shades were not optional. I like the orange and white against the blue sky. A bit like Howard Johnson's.

My city was supposedly in a 91% totality spot for the eclipse but it didn't get dark. It was still sunny but a bit like someone turned on a dimmer. The streetlights came on and the temperature cooled slightly, like almost dusk. They say my city will be in a prime spot for darkness in 2024.

I found a place on the web that showed how to use binoculars and a tripod to set up a viewer so I did that. The sky was clear until eclipse time when a broken cloud cover came in. After the elipse it was gone. I got to see a crescent sun projected on a white box cover whenever there was a break in the clouds. Our eclipse was only around 66% so it never got dark at all. I watched the tv coverage of the totals and was disappointed that the stars didn't come out.

I had the opportunity to watch from the stands at our local High School with about 400 students, grades 9 to 12. The weather was dicey, but the clouds parted and there were no clouds to obstruct our view during totality of over 2 minutes duration. The students were awed by the sight as were the faculty and administration. I feel very blessed.

I'm just seeing these comments, and curious if any of you saw the eclipse we just had! KNadineM, you mentioned 2024 in your comments, I hope you got to see this one better. pixipixil I liked reading about the special way you viewed that one 7 years ao!

Dear db, what a perfect eulogy for a loving man doing his best for his family. People learn by seeing others act. Imagine how many he has influenced! What a great story--you & his family have certainly been blessed.
