I love watermelon. I live alone and buy a whole one for myself. It's good for breakfast. lunch, dinner and a snacks. I eat it like God made it, no extra stuff. Sure is good.

I prefer the seedless, but any will do.

I love watermelon but it has to be sweet and ripe. I too think things tasted different when I was growing up. For instance butter was different then now. It was better and another one was corn on the cobb. I don't know if our taste buds change or if the food is different. It took me awhile to get this done but I'm due to go in for cataract surgery soon. (as soon as I get the nerve to make an appointment) Has anyone had this done and if so how was it?
Have a great day everyone and GOD bless you all.

I have had both eyes done. It is a slam dunk!! It takes time because they put lots of different drops in your eyes before the surgery. The actual surgery takes just minutes. After you have it done you will wonder why you waited so long. Let us know how it turns out for you.
GOD bless!!

Hi Logansport: My Father had both eyes done, and he was in his 90's. He did very well and was able to see to make costume jewelry up to when he passed at age 98!
He experienced no problems, and was very careful to follow the requirements to heal successfully-things like
not bending over and lifting heavier things. Do it, you will be glad you did, and I will say prayers for you, as I did for him

Hi Logansport. Someone asked this about 6 months ago and the responses were the same. Except for the nuisance of the preparation with all the drops, The procedure lasts less than an hour (I'm not counting the prep) and few if any people have any trouble later. My right eye was done several years ago and has been fine. You can even select lenses that have more than one vision but they are expensive so I chose for just distance.

Yes get it done...(make sure you have a good eye surgeon). I had my done 8 years ago and have only had to have one small change since then in 1 lense of my glasses. I still wear my glasses all the time that way I don't have to find them or get sunglasses on if I go outside. I also went with the lesser expensive lense. Before I had it done they said there wasn't a state that would pass my on my vision and after both eyes were done I went to 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other one. It was like looking at a whole new world.

Logansport, don't delay. I've had the right one done and am scheduled for the other one on the 26th. It is amazingly easy and very little down time. Colors will be brighter, everything clearer. I was nervous before the first one also, but after couldn't for the life of me figure out why I'd waited so long!! Good luck and God bless.

My husband had it done. The drops before was a piece of cake compared to all the drops after. Of course I had to put them in as he couldn't. His vision is great and the only thing he "complained" about was being sure he had on sunglasses when he went out because with out he cataracts the sun is too bright. Nice complaint, right. Do it and let us know.

Hi Logansport, my grandmother had it done when she was 100 and talked to the doctors all the way through the operation. As mentioned people who have had the op say they don't know why they waited so long. Take care and God bless.

Kittycat is right. A couple of minutes in the sun near anything with a light color and I get snow blind in my fixed eye.

Go ahead, you'll be happy you did. I had both eyes done. The only problem is that you will be able to see all the dirt and dust on everything!!!

Hi, Logansport - I've had one eye done (the other's not too bad so far). Piece of cake! And the difference it makes...just marvellous. So much of one's world is visual...get it done!!! :-))

Mind you, there are disadvantages....like when you've had the cataract done and you look in the mirror first thing: then you can see a bit too clearly
!! Lol!

For me it was disconcerting to have a different color sense in each eye. My husband is somewhat color blind so I pick out his clothes for him. This one shirt he would always want to wear with grey but I kept telling him it was tan. Then I saw it without the cataract and could have put it with grey also. What is really odd is getting color aftershadows. And the blues are vivid in the lens eye while the reds are vivid in the cataract eye. It still beats going blind.

My doctor is still putting off the left eye. He feels I'm still seeing too well to do it. I was seeing double on the eye exam and mostly guessed. Oh well. What a time to get "lucky." maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket that day.

Hi nlb. It's always hard to do a puzzle about something you don't like. I didn't mind that I was too busy for yesterday's puzzle.
I find wild boars a bore.

We all have strange tastes I think. I LOVE watermelon and HATE cantaloupe. Go figure. I even hate the way cantaloupe smells. It will stink up your fridge in a few minutes!

That's true about the smell but I do love most of the more common melons. Maybe you have been eating them overripe. Anyway you are allowed to hate anything or like anything. Non disputandis.....

Pixi, good choice of words! Besides being boring, they aren't exactly cute and cuddly. Also, from anything I've ever heard about them, they don't have very pleasing personalities either!

They are very dangerous. Some folks find hunting them a great adventure. I don't even like them in a puzzle so I skipped today's because that's what there was--a tapir which is a type of wild pig.

It's lunch time and doing this puzzle has me drooling. Cucumbers, watermelon and corn on the cob all say summer to me. I can't eat corn any more but I'm up for the other two. My mother used to make cucumber salad with sour cream, vinegar, thins sliced onions, salt and pepper. I could go for that with some watermelon for dessert.
Have a happy day. Stay cool. God bless.

My mother used to make that cucumber salad too. I make tomato cucumber salad, with mayonaise and lemon juice, after it has been in the fridge for an hour all of the flavours blend together and it very refereshing.

Do you slice them the night before and sprinkle salt on them, then drain them b4 you make them into salad. It's supposed to help. I do and have no trouble.

Yes, pixi, I forgot the salt part of it. I also put some cut up green onions in mine. People will fight over it!

Just call me "Aunt Blabby" about this puzzle! I keep adding thoughts.
Back to the cataract surgery--go for it! Just do what they say, no big deal, and you will grateful that you had it done. I had both eyes done. Before that I was living in a brown haze and didn't even know it.
