Pixie I am not a parent not have I been married. However, I have learned that the loss of a loved children is heart breaking. I have also learned that the Lord is the God of all comfort and will remain with you when all else fails. Lean on the Lord and trust Him with your pain, and all of the emotions you feel and in time you will begin to have a sense of peace and that life goes on.

My son is dead. Please pray for his daughters to be placed with parents who will take good care of them as we are too old to take them.
Do not write to me about your prayers as I will be gone from this site for a while. Just pray. The girls are named Isabella (almost 3) and Olivia (almost 1).

To all of you..it is one week and today has been one of the hardest as all the things that keep you distracted are done--except clearing out the apartment which I don't know I can handle...and the legal stuff which I can't endure under any circumstances. I do not worry about my son who died without fear (as he did not intend to OD) or pain (as he never woke from his fantasy dreams.) I can't talk about it now. Keep praying especially for his oldest daughter(almost 3).

Pixipixil, grief's talons are never sheathed, and its patient capacity to wound is unremitting. It lies in wait for a weak or tired moment and strikes anew. God gave us tears to help us bear unbearable sorrow. Don't hesitate to cry. Your son's angel wings (yes, he has them) are hovering over his girls and you, too. I pray for you to receive the strength and courage you need.

Thank you, all my good friends. I just got back from my son's apartment. The lawyer for my granddaughter told me I could remove some of her toys and clothes and that in spite of the fact that my son is dead, the psycho mother who now has his child cannot come into the apartment to take anything. I was able to tell his best friend (whom Matt will be glad is taking over the apartment) if she comes to the door claiming she has rights she does not have any. That gives me some peace of mind.
The other grandma is going to launch some kind of action to try to get custody of her. I suggested she sell the idea of joint custody to get her foot in the door and get a new lawyer as the current one has told her she has no chance.

Dear Pixi - I am on holidays at the moment, and my husband brought his laptop with him, so can still access the site but cannot do the puzzles. I am so sorry to hear of all you have to bear at the moment and am praying for the whole situation. Because of my daughter's drug problem I can relate to your pain. May God's mantle of peace cover you. Aknan said it all so beautifully. It is such a privilege to be able to pray for each other. God bless you heaps. Hugs.

Thank you again. Everybody. Yesterday was a gorgeous Fall day so doing driving to get clothes & toys from the apartment was somewhat healing. It was red sky at morning so today may be rainy. I don't do well even when things arew "normal" when it rains so I will lean on the prayers and lean on the Lord. God bless youi all.

It is ok to cry too. Know that the lot of us are in pain just thinking about your situation. But God is the God of all comfort and He will comfort you.

I seem to cry more each day. The tears build up and I get exhausted holding them in. But continous crying isn't good either. Getting out helps but it's pouring today. Shopping should help.
Thanks, Cindy

Pixi, I just read a quote from Charles Dickens. "It (crying) opens the lungs, washes the countenance, exercises the eyes and softens the temper - so cry away. Tears are our holy water. I hope this helps some. Prayers.

That is beautiful, aknan. It made me think of the one from Isak Dinesen - "The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears or the sea."

Aknan and manatee--there have been no shortages of tears from myself or my husband...or the huge number of friends who came to tell us of some kindness my son rendered to them or how he had made them laugh at a time they had hit bottom. We await the result of the autopsy. Some claimed he returned to drugs and that may be but he was drinking those energy drinks and we warned him of the danger there. My prayers now are for the daughter he loved so much who is now with her mother --a loose woman with psychological problems. Since she has custody and has shown a determination to separate her daughter from everything in her past life, we can see no good coming from any direct contact which will only serve to upset the mother and therfore make things worse for the child. In addition I cannot for my own mental health, bear to see the child with her father now dead. My husband and I now leave her in God's hands and only ask for prayers for her which is all we feel capable of doing now.

Pixi, what you and your husband are going through has to be one of the most difficult things in the world. Is there any chance y'all can get visitation rights to see the girls? While you may not be able to cope with seeing them with their mother, you and your husband may be the best things in her young life. At least you'd get the chance to teach them about God and show them a more normal lifestyle than that of their mother.

I understand your pain, and will pray for the little one, and God knows all about this whole mess, nothing surprises Him. He loves that little one totally and completely. And He prepares a way for her. Do not doubt Him, Remember Joseph for the bible and the weird path God had him on. But God was always with him. May that help you in your journey.
