Funny piece of thread - not connected with needle or bobbin.

What I have to get out and use. It's so heavy, hard to get out of the sewing cabinet. A portable Sears one but at least 40 years old. Have had it repaired once. However, it works and gets done the things I need to use it for.

Have done this puzle before but decided to do it again.

My Brothers sewing mach is 53 years old & still sews like new, but it doesn't sew over real heavy material. It is hard for me to sit very long in front of the machine.

Fiesty, have you been taking your machine in to the shop for maintenance? I remember my mom oiling something, and changing the belts. What she couldn't do, my dad could as he was mechanically inclined. I just wondered if I needed to take mine in now & then for a "checkup"

I did after a fire. It was so dirty. The man is a genius when it comes to sewing machines.

I am going to echo every comment regarding this sewing machine. Yes...it looks like the Singer my Mom had. Built into a table and had a treadle below. For the life of me though, I don't remember her ever sewing anything for me. Preferred store bought clothes anyway!

As a sewing type it seems strange to look at the machine from this side rather than the business side. LoL

Guess my machine is a vintage one. Probably got it about 1965. I still use it occassionally.I used to make all my clothes becasue it was cheaper to make than to buy. Not any more.Material is expensive now.

That's a really old machine - looks like a Singer.

Both of the quotes are a little sad and happy. Hope you are staying cool. Have a blessed day. Take this Grammy Hug with you and keep it warm.

Hi goof, still having our heatwave and supposed to end on Sunday. Only relief is when I am in the car, or at the shopping centre, or at night. I have fans in almost every room in the house and a pergola in the back yard where there is usually a lovely sea breeze to cool me down. Hugs.

I love the first quote but Andy Rooney! My mother was a very bitter person and harbored all the hurts other had done to her. I try to make it a practice to forgive others and not let any bad feelings affect me. A person can't t hold onto hurtful feelings it poisons yourself and makes it harder to love others.

Well olamae, you seem to have overcome your mother's tendency as you impress me as being a very loving and kind person. There is a quote I saw once which goes something like this, you cannot drink poison and think it will kill your enemy. :) Hugs.
