I've been to Venice as well. We went to St. Marks Square. Yes it's true there were that many pigeons like Jimlahar says. We went to the islands Burrano and Murrano.
I'd love to visit Venice, but I don't know if I could manage to live there. Being a coastal city, I'm assuming that fish and seafood make a large amount of the diet, and although I like fish and seafood, I don't know if I could eat it on a daily basis.
Oh toadalove, I was about to give you my share. I am sure it would be fun for a short visit, but I am a real USA Westerner. Give me the wide-open spaces! Remember that old sold song, "Don't fence me in"? I think I would feel trapped in stacked up buildings like that on water. I wonder if there is dry land behind those buildings?
