I saw this on Random Jigsaws and looked interesting. We used to put stacks of hay and a few other decorations in front yard. We carved a few pumpkins. Passed out candy. We enjoyed seeing the kids outfits. Our neighbors and us used to line our street with small bags, put sand in them and a candle and we had around 100 kids. After a few years less people got involved which met no kids so we don't do it anymore. Miss it.
ACK!! If my loved ones are coming to me as spiders...I'm terrified of spiders...would rather have butterflies!

Interesting lore on spiders. When I found out that the Secretary of UNICEF is chauffeured in a limo, I stopped giving to UNICEF. I have found no info to the contrary and if anyone does, I would like to know. Thanks.

I don't give to UNICEF either. They give less than 5 cents of your donation to the cause. There are a few others I don't give ot either because of their greed.

Wasps capture spiders and stuff them into their nests so that when the baby wasps hatch they eat the spider. Here's hoping the wasps aren't eating any of y'alls ancestors.

Elijah13, just reading this. I was quite young when they started the Trick or Treat for UNICEF program, and our church enlisted us to do it. I remember Halloween becoming very sad from then on -- not one person gave me a piece of candy AND coins for my box, and none of my other little friends were doing it...I'm embarrassed to admit I felt very sorry for myself, even though I knew it was a kind thing to do for other children!
Trick or treat..give me something good to eat. I'm ready. Hung my huge spider web and ugly spider by my front door and multiple pumpkins on the porch. This happens to be my favorite holiday. Boooo!
If you see a spider on Halloween, it means the spirit of a loved one is watching over you!
