Cheery, easy puzzle. It's amazing how many varieties of tomatoes there now are...all different sizes and colors. Some are purple. Many have a sort of core that I can't remember there being in the tomatoes we had when I grew up. I wonder if there are as many tomato tastes as there are apple flavors.
Wishing you a day of new tastes.

Pixi, the core is usually the result of being picked green and forced to ripen with gas. Never happens with our home-grown ones.

That's interesting. Where did you find that out, aknan?

I'm an old gardener - I put myself through college with the proceeds of selling my produce to local groceries - long ago! If I must buy tomatoes, I go for the ones still on the vine as the lesser evil. Mid-June, our farmer's markets open and I should be able to get home-grown ones again!

That's wonderful and impressive, aknan.

Have to admit, college costs were considerably lower back when dirt was forming....

I went to city and state ones that had lo tuition. Some of the community colleges were as good or better than the one private College I did attend.
$50/credit at the community ones. I had a scholarship for the first and went back to work to earn tuition for the next. My last was paid for via inheritance.

Two community colleges in between to boost credits. No degree from either of those but I was matriculated.

My mom was allergic to tomatoes; so I grew up not eating any. Then when I was 16 I dated a guy who introduced me to them and it has been a life-long love affair with me and tomatoes. ( I ditched the guy! )

Looks good. Day didn't start off well--no internet connection. Finally had to call and now it is up and running fine.

That is definitely a bad way to start the day. Glad you could get back on.

Glad to hear that you could get back on. There was a day that we didn't have tv, phone or internet. This was going on for about 10 hours. Even my neighbors had the same issue with the cable company. The tomatoes above look more like the ones from a grocery store. Those tomatoes are picked weeks before. I myself like them dark as well. Hubby and I went out for lunch. We had sliced cooked tomatoes that were marinated. They were really yummy! The food was so much that I had to share. Ordered baby back ribs. Had to share that as well - enough to feed 3 people easily.

I have an aunt that likes them that way.

Those tomatoes still look like they could use another day or two on the vine before they were ready to suit my taste but I do like my tomatoes a nice dark red. The leaf on the tomato on the right brings to mind the cracks that often form on tomatoes in our gardens. My sister won't eat those because bugs plant germs that could get into the meat of the tomato. I just cut the split top off and eat the rest. How do the rest of you feel about that? Am I taking a big risk or is my sister wasting good tomatoes?

God bless you all.
