I absolutely love this type of cherries, I believe these are Rainer Cherries. They are available for only a short time every summer, they taste a little different than red cherries and of course they cost more. It's my once a summer treat, can't wait for them this summer. You all stay safe.

Oh, sorry jajac, as I opened the puzzle website today I just finished off a lovely bowl of cherries (only mine were the dark ones).

The house where I grew up, at one time, we had 4 cherry trees in our backyard. The biggest challenge was to find cherries that were low enough to reach that a bird hadn't already pecked at. When I was 9 or 10, my dad chopped them down in order to put up a new fence - or he was feeling like he was George Washington.
Are these "Queen Anne" cherries? I think there are other names, but I can't remember them. I bought some that looked like these at a road-side stand in Oregon. They were so delicious and sweet that I sort of likened them to eating sugar cubes! Fantastic!
