Not so enjoyable flying these days. Lines, cramped seating, etc. Would rather travel by car or train, or not at all.

I remember these---and no wheels! Good thing I was younger when I had to use these. Couldn't do it now. Not too hard a puzzle.

The TV show Nashville is GREAT was sorry to see it go. The actors really do all their singing parts too. Great voices.

My bags are packed. I'm ready to go...So kiss me and smile for me.
Peter Paul and Mary song. I don't especially like their music but as soon as I saw the puzzle that song took over my head.
Got caught up in everything but what I had decided needed doing today so it's now catch up time. Puzzle has to wait. Hope the bags don't get shipped w/o me.
Wishing you all sentimental journeys today. (I like that song better anyway.)

I like both songs. "I'm going to take a sentimental journey, " of course, is much older.

Yes, me too. Same song:

Lyrics

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn
The taxi's waiting, he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
(Oh baby, don't let me go)
I'm leavin' on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I tell you now, they don't mean a thing
Every place I go, I think of you
Every song I sing, I sing for you
When I come back, I'll wear your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
(Oh baby, don't let me go)
I'm leavin' on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time let me kiss you
Then close your eyes and I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times, I won't have to say

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
(Oh baby, don't let me go)
I'm leavin' on a jet plane
I don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

I give up. It is a very long song. Don't know if I got it all covered here--but enufs is enuf.

Yup. And it has me sad. But it was good to see all the lyrics. I don't think I ever caught them all. Thanks Starrphyre.

I don't think I've ever heard all the lyrics either, but I can sure belt out the "leavin' on a jet plane" part! lol Thanks Starrphyre, and I sang the words in my head as I read them.

That song was written by John Denver, who eventually recorded it for one of his own albums. Personally, I like both versions.

Thanks for the info, jazz.
Do you watch the series Nashville? We rented it from the library and really enjoyed it.

No I've never seen it. I'll have to see if I can find it 'on demand' from my cable company.

I've been to about half the states in the US and have been extremely fortunate enough to see Williamsburg VA 4 times (one of my favorite places), Washington DC, everything between n.e. Fla and California including the New Orleans and the Plantations along River Road, the Alamo (twice), Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, the Indian Festival in Albuquerque NM, Las Vegas, the southern to middle California coast, Disney World CA, Yosemite (twice), the Giant Redwoods, Yellowstone in WY, the Grand Tetons, Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde Colorado, Natchez Under the HIll, ante-bellum plantations around Natchez MS, Vicksburg MS Nat'l Military Park (Civil War battlefield) and the USS Cairo a salvaged ironclad gunboat, Sanibel and Captiva Islands in FL, the Florida Keys, and Disney World Orlando (twice). Large cities that I've visited include Atlanta GA, San Antonio TX, Los Angeles CA, Denver CO, Nashville TN, Washington DC, and Richmond VA. Plus my hubby and I have been to England, Scotland and Wales three times.

You are absolutely correct about our having a beautiful country to live in. It is truly awe inspiring.

Same here JUDY2014...four of us girls in the early 1960's drove from Mich. to Calif., and yes, I think this country is beautiful too. Same as with you, been to NY, but missed the Statue. Also would still like to see some of the Northwest. My bucket list is filling up!
