Mystery for today

Not a strawberry lover but do love how the seeds are arranged on the outside of the fruit.

"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little." Edmund Burke

Helen M. Luke explains further: "Each of us, as we journey through life, has the opportunity to find and to give his or her unique gift. Whether this gift is quiet or small in the eyes of the world matters not at all. Not at all; it is through the finding and the giving that we may come to know the joy that lies at the center of both the dark times and the light." Peter Shepherd

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

It is a berry pretty picture. As Nikita Kruschev once said at the United Nations, "We will berry you." Or something like that.

I love strawberries, any way I can get them. Ice cream, milkshake, strawberry cream cake (which is to die for) and fresh. OK, any way! Hugs to all of you!

I'm afraid I am older than you, AS. I remember William Bendix who starred in "The Life of Riley" in the 1950's coming to our school. And also Maria Von Trapp whose story was made into a movie and a theater play called, "The Sound of Music" also visited the school. And also saw the coronation of Queen Elizabeth on TV at school.

My father used to love that show - the Life of Riley - and at that stage we didn't have a TV and used to go in next door on a Saturday night to watch it on the neighbours. So we must be the same vintage lol. Hugs PW and MRSPW

It sounds like you all are in my mom's age group. I was born in the late 60s.

I was a baby when Queen Elizabeth had her coronation. My mother has a picture of her holding me as the Queen drives by in her cavalcade. Kinda neat :)

ParsonWayne, I haven't caught up to my age yet either, lol. I'll turn 50 this year and I don't act like it, people also tell me I don't look it either.

I don't act my age because I don't know how a person my age is supposed to act. I have never been this old before.

I've been told that I don't act my age too. I'm 57, had early whitening of hair and yes, it is white. It's a family thing on my mother's side. No escape.

Love white hair and can't wait for mine to turn, however my Mum died in her 80's and it was still that grey sort of colour. Hugs taffi.

I have known people who were young at 80, and I have known people who were old at 45. A lot depends on your health, but mostly on your attitude.

I wanted to add a bit of humor here:
A young man shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him around. If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him.

She finally overtook him at the checkout, and she turned to him and said, "I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late son."
He answered, "That's okay."
She then said, "I know it's silly, but if you'd call out 'Good bye, Mom' as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy."
She then went through the checkout, and as she was on her way out of the store, the man called out, "Goodbye, Mom."
The little old lady waved and smiled back at him..
Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, he went to pay for his groceries.
"That comes to $121.85, " said the clerk..
"How come so much? I only bought 5 items."
The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said you'd be paying for her things, too."

Funny story ParsonWayne. The points you made on age were great too. It's interesting as I'm middle aged, that I've learned because of being diagnosed with high blood pressure and cholesterol to try to eat better and be more active and that helps to make me feel good. I still eat some things they say is bad but I think if it makes you happy, stick with it but in moderation.

Just one of my favorite foods. I live for that time of year. When we lived just outside of Gilroy, Ca. we had a horse ranch on one side, on the other were strawberry fields. When they were picking we would buy them straight out of the fields, still warm from th sun. Those were the very best strawberries I have ever had, sooo very sweet and juicey. The juice would run down your chin. Can remember it like it was yesterday. Guess I'm getting old! You all be careful and stay safe.

We have strawberry fields in Plant City, Fl.--about 50 miles from where I live. I remember one year picking strawberries and was sore for the next week. However, they are the best to eat. Our Publix stores always buy locally when possible. Their main complex is near Plant City.

Gee darambo, almost makes me want to like strawberries lol. You would like it where I live as there is a huge farm which runs alongside the road and once a year they have a strawberry crop and all the strawberry pickers in their little strawberry picking carts are out in force harvesting the strawberries. Hugs darambo and hope you are keeping well.
