Over the years I've owned 7 black cats, but the one I had the longest was my 'beautiful boy', Fergus, who was with us for 19 years. His litter mate Banshee left us after 8 years. They do manage to take up considerable real estate in your hearts, don't they? I miss them especially around Hallowe'en when you see pictures of black cats everywhere. We recently had a 12-hour power outage, and strangely enough I missed old Ferg then - having him curl up beside me on the couch and adding warmth.
I can hear the conversation!
Top left: "What? Another Halloween? I haven't recovered from the
last one!
Bottom left: "Wake me when it's over."
Middle: "Get off my head, you dumb cat! :
Right: "It was a great party. Still got my hat on! "
Cat: "These guys aren't any fun! "
Happy Halloween!
I like black cats but not creepy jack-o-lanterns or spider webs - especially when you don't see them and walk into them. Don't much like spiders either but understand their role in the world.
