Lots of presents, but the best gift of all is the friendship and comradery on here.

I need some special prayer at the moment and I know you will come through for me.

I just joined the group this year, but what a caring and kind group it is as we share our joys and sorrows. As the lightning bug said when he backed into a fan, "I'm delighted".

The best gift is compassion, love and salvation. General elections this morning, went out bright and early to vote. They're always on a Sunday because most people are free.

I pray each night for the right leaders to be elected and that God gives them His wisdom once elected.

Good for you, orinoco, for voting. It is a wonderful freedom.

Your user name is interesting. Is it after the river in South America or Enya's song Orinoco Flow? (or something else)

I wish elections in the United States were on weekends. Although I no longer work, it was either show up at the polling location before work or after leaving work. Where I live, I had an hour to vote, catch the bus to work, and get to work, or 2 hours to catch the bus from work, get to the polling place and stand in line with just about everyone else who waited until after work to vote - neither choice was that great, although, going early, did remind others to also go vote, as long as your "I Voted" sticker stayed attached to your clothing.

Tryinfindit, my name comes from Orinoco Womble...remember the Wombles? Orinoco was a bit lazy, preferred good food and "forty winks" to tidying-up duty. Ah yesss, we must be related! LOL

Voting split exactly down the middle, so neither coalition can really form a government, they'll probably hold another election in a year or so. The system is so different here. But at least this time more people voted than usual, which shows they are thinking and making a choice instead of just complaining the next day.

A coalition would be nice. We have numerous splinter parties, some with excellent ideas, that nobody pays any attention to. That is not true democracy. It has to go further than only the majority count.

Orinoco - I don't think we had Wombles in the US. Had to look them up online.
trynfindit
Dec 21, 2015
Pixi, I think some of those 'splinter parties' ideas may get used by one of the larger parties, but I think that the larger parties are more focused on their own party's agenda.

Dec 21, 2015
Agenda is the operative word. Not solution. That IS the problem...at least I think it is. ;-)

I thought I was doing pretty well on this puzzle until I noticed that I took almost twice as long as the next slowest time listed.

I hadn't realized that we were so close to Christmas until the other day when I was scheduling to meet someone for lunch and he said, "Tuesday, the 22nd." I thought it was the following week.

There's always something so charming about anything in miniature.
Somebody must be getting jewelry for Christmas.
Anybody else going to see Star Wars next week?
Wishing you all calm amid the last minute rush.

The light blue box does kind of look like a miniature Tiffany's box, but, that would probably be really small jewelry. Of course, outside of puzzle land, someone's getting some jewelry.
