I think it would be fun to live near the water...

Hi CatLadyOKC, Near the water, yes it is fun and very convenient. But right on the water, not so good. It's very cold in the winter and throughout the year you can have all sorts of wild life on the banks, like Water-moccasins, alligators, etc. When we lived in Orlando, we were on a lake, we had all sorts of animals in our yard; some deer, partridges, wild turkeys, turkey buzzards, cranes, egrets, turtles, ducks, rabbits...it was a parade of animals. We also had a bottle brush tree, which brought in lots of hummingbirds. :)

We've had rabbits, turtles, squirrels, mice (even w/cats, wild turkeys, & one snake (blue racer) that they told be about...also stray cats & dogs. We hummingbirds too, love to watch them, they like the magnolia tree we have!

I want to thank all of you who prayed for me to have the mammogram show I had no cancer. I'm fine. The skin had been folded over and that caused the "asymmetry."
I am so grateful and happy.

I think the suggestion of cancer always puts fear in us. Glad it was nothing more than a skin fold. Bless you. Hugs.

I had a cancer scare myself! I was at the doctor and he mentions that the lab results are back. Then he says oh I see that you have an enzyme that is elevated. Hubby and I asked what that means and the doctor replies oh that could mean that you have a tumor growing. Oh then he says oh no I miss spoke.

I hope your doctor didn't think that was a good April fool joke. Poor carol. You are getting beat up by everyone.

Oh that cancer scare was in January. There's cancer in my family so I was really scared. I wouldn't say I was getting beat up. At school everyday one year I was getting picked on and now today they call it bullying. I think I'm going to make something this weekend. I'm trying to distract myself from my upcoming surgery procedure on Tuesday. I'm really excited about getting our new puppy. I want to give that little angel a hug!

Thanks Pixi - I'll have two of them. Glad to hear that you test was negative. One day I was all doped up on pain meds I was really stressed. Didn't realize what I typed til afterwards - you can't edit when you hit post reply. Not like what one ad exec did. Getting a new job as well.

Oh just found out that my mil went to the doctor and now has a heart condition. The woman now thinks that she's going to die soon - and is in a panic. Then she thinks that she won't be able pay for her medical bills. She lives in a really small town.

Don't let her bilk you for money to pay for anything.

Pixi - Many seniors run into this problem. They work and then retire and get Medicare. I'm working and run into this concern as well. I had a surgery a couple years ago and still owe money. I had insurance but this is my part. My people aren't in the position to just write a check for 4K to pay a doctor. I highly doubt that my mother in law will attempt to try and get something for free. The people that work for these doctors act like you don't know "Whatever the insurance company doesn't pay, you're responsible for the other 20%". I already knew this info but in the states that what were often told.

Honestly it's my hubby that's freaking out over my procedures. The doctors office called and asked me to come into his office. I thought why would I go there when I'm being sedated. Then hubby thinks I'm not concerned about his mother and I am!

Sorry Carol. I thought you were still telling me about those neighbors. I now get it mil=mother-in-law. But you can't b driving anywhere after sedation anyway. Doesn't your hubby know that?

Oh those people - there not neighbors. I've tried to tell them I can't watch their dogs and take you to the airport. We told them use a pet sitter and a shuttle. The sedation drugs that they use today aren't like they used to be. Trust me I don't be driving after being sedated. One day I was not pleased with a lab. They call me to inform me "Oh we made an error and could you come back tomorrow. I told them about 3 times oh I'm being sedated tomorrow. I've had to take hubby in for surgical procedures as well. The doctor will tell him you can't do anything for 2 months. He had surgery and they did stuff to his chest. Then afterwards he's trying to do stuff.

Oh yw Pixi - hope that my procedure is cancer free. The doctor today said that usually 95% it isn't cancer. If it's pre- cancer he'll take everything out. He's not even using the hospital - we have two of them. He's using a surgery center. I was given a packet and have to bring it with me that day. I then had to go online and fill out the forms. He told me he using two different sedation drugs. Don't know why he'd use both. Both of them have put me under. I told him that I've had both drugs - your out so quickly and you say when are you doing the procedure and it's over.

Ugh! men is right - the woman that you were referring to - I've told her numerous times NO! on several things. Told her one day weeks ago - oh I'm afraid of your dog - maltese - he'll bite me. She laughs. Then she shows me the mark on her arm where he bit her. I told her that my dogs have never bitten anyone because I teach them when their young!

You know there's that saying "Love me; love my dog." WEW love our pets so much they become extensions of ourselves and of course we wouldn't bite anyone so how could our pets? I have a neighbor like yours when it comes to her dog(s). These are labs so their bite would be no little thing and they already bit my husband once when he was out running in the road. Happily the dog got only a little skin so this time it was no big deal but what about next time. And if the dog will bite when you are off the property what about coming onto it? You can't reasom with her. She lives in heer own alternative reality.

Being bitten from a lab? Labs are normally very sweet. Evidently clear someone didn't train their dog. Yes I've run into those type of people. She probably thinks her labs are just angels. We have great neighbors. I always train my dogs from puppyhood not to bite etc. Hope your hubby is okay. I don't have a problem with our neighbors dogs. The woman with the dog I was referring is someone I work with.

Ugh! thank god that your fine. A neighbor of mine had a mammorgram and she wasn't fine. She was 41 at the time raising two kids. She had one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. I have two nurses on my street and one talked to the other. Then one day one nurse volunteers this info about my neighbor. Thank god she's fine now. Grrr gossiping neigbhors. I understand the concern but thought their was a HIPPA clause!

Thank you so much for thinking of me, Pixi. I'm kind of in limbo right now. I saw my primary care doc...I call him my "gatekeeper" because all he does is give me referrals to a dozen other doctors. Then I have to make phone calls and set up appointments and have my hubby drag me all over town just to get some answers. He said he thinks that the lumps I found are in the lymph nodes in the armpit. He gave me a referral for an ultrasound, but I have to wait for the imaging place to call and set up the appointment. Then I told him I was having terrible kidney pain, he referred me to my Urologist (who doesn't DO kidneys). I called him, but he was out of town. His assistant (I love her! she helps me a lot! ) told me that I should get to the emergency room immediately! I had a lot of other symptoms that needed to be checked into and couldn't wait over the weekend. So hubby took me to the emergency room and we spent 4 hours there. After many tests, all they found was a large blockage in my colon on the right side where my pain was. I hadn't had any problems with that function so this surprised me. (Hubby and I joked that they told me I was "full of poop" or whatever word you care to enter there! ) They told me to go home and take laxatives. It's now a week later, and I still feel the same, except I run to the bathroom a lot more! When you have MS, every ache and pain is magnified, and it baffles doctors!

I hope this wasn't TMI (too much information! )...I'll let you know when I finally get in to imaging and find out anything about my lumps...

Please keep me in your prayers. God Bless!

There's no other way to talk about illness than TMI. Doesn't bother me so talk away. Will keep prayers coming. I have irritable bowel syndrome and know what those blockages feel like. Takes all your energy just to process the food. Humph.
Just one more thing to lay on the Lord I guess.

I have had many mistakes working in an office and typing. I've even dropped off structural blueprints for an engineers office. The woman at the front desk said she'd give the blueprints to her boss. A couple days later he'd call and say he didn't get them. I say the TMI about people down here. A sat in a doctors waiting office and an elderly woman sat down. She started telling me her conditions.

I can't wait until it is warm enough to get out on the water again. This looks like a good place to start...in about a month. Our NY State parks allow people over 62 (I think) to enter without paying on most days except holiday weekends. We are ready, oh so ready.
