THOSE THINGS ARE SCARY TO RIDE IN

I have never had the desire to ski in my entire life. Even if I was, the time for that has passed.

Merry Christmas to all the fantastic puzzlers and the C4J staff!! aussie, your "two more sleeps" reminds me of the Muppet Christmas Carol when Kermit sings 'there's only two more sleeps till Christmas.'

Not that anyone really cares, lol, but Kermit's song in "A Muppet Christmas Carol" said there's only ONE more sleep till Christmas, not two as I stated earlier. 🙃

I'm not in the Christmas spirit as this will be the saddest one I ever lived through bUT I do wish all of you the most wonderful Chritmas ever.
I think I'll do the flamingo puzzle to cheer myself up. Have a happy Christmas Eve Eve.

I am sure it will be a tough day. Will you be with any friends or family? Praying for you.

Thanks becky. No I'll be alone. My brother and his wife called and we had a long phone visit and so did two friends. Tomorrow if the roads aren't too bad I'll go to church and lead the singing. Then I'll come home and heat up leftovers from Thanksgiving. Even when my husband was alive we just came home after Mass and didn't do anything special after my son died seven years ago. He wasn't big on presents because his parents were too poor to buy any for their kids. I always provided all the decorating, presents, food etc. as my son grew up. Other than decorate and send cards that's about it these days. Both my friends and son cancelled their scheduled visits because of the COVID surge. So I don't feel too left out.
Hope you are still able to see loved ones and all of you are well.

The "first" of everything - Thanksgving, Christmas, birthday - is difficult when you've lost a loved one. It does get easier, and the memories will still be with you. God grant you peace, pixi.

Thanks aknan. At the momeny it's the memories that hurt the most. I was just getting to being able to remember things about my son and now I'm back to square one. I am fortunate to be in a pretty safe neighborhood and own my house. It's just a matter of faith and patience I guess. Thank you for your encouragement. Have a beautiful Christmas.

Sorry you will be alone. That covid is messing a lot of things up. I am up late as usual and the clock just turned midnight. It just turned Christmas. We don't have plans. On Sunday Sam's son and family are coming to visit for a few days. We will fix Christmas dinner then. They have been married just a few years. His wife already had a boy about 13 and then they had a boy. He will be three next month. We have only seen them a couple times. They live in Arkansas and he works a lot so they don't travel much. So we will celebrate a little.

I hope you had a wonderful celebration, Becky.
Arkansas is a pretty state. We looked into retiring there and visited twice. Where are they in Arkansas?

Pixipixil, I am sorry this is a particularly difficult Christmas for you. Even though we're all spread out, I'm confident that you'll be in our thoughts. These have been trying times, I have to remind myself that this too shall pass, and there will be happy times ahead and peace.

Beautiful. Never been skiing.
The classic Christmas tune "Silent Night" was written in 1818. It was originally composed for the guitar.
Try to have a wonderful day!

Thank you, Elijah. That gave m a smile as I could only play guitar and now I can't even do that because I get trigger finder when I try to play it. I did it for 7 yers in church and the parishioners liked it but the priests didn't. There's a whole push (probably the organist's guild is behind it) to only have the organ play at Mass. They try to make people believe somehow that instrument is the only one approved by some Pope over a hundred years ago so that's all we should be allowed to have. What rubbish!

Why on earth does the type of music played in church cause such an uproar? It's all to glorify Him, so why can't we accept that and go on?

Power. Exclusivity.
I'm with you. If a person has a gift they are willing to share which glorifies God and also gives pleasure to those sharing it, why not let 'er rip?

I think my skiing days are over although I did a few in 2019. Nothing like a beautiful clear day with mountain views.

Lovely picture. I have never been skiing which is a good thing since I am so clumsy, I would be dead now! And I am not a friend of heights. Have a lovely day and may your blessings never end!
