I did this over three year before my husband died. I didn't know how happy I was then. I was trying to get us to move west but my husband wasn't into a move. I couldn't find an affordable place I would like. Then my husband died and I thought I would move to AZ to live near my brother who was living near Phoenix. So this Fall I went out again to look for a house and visit my brother. While I was there with him and his wife he had a stroke and is now dead.
My son is dead. My husband is dead. My parents are dead. My only brother is dead. I have a few cousins that I never kept in contact with and an uncle who is currently my only "close" relative.
He's in Florida and 96 but still has his wits. Don't know how I'll cope when he's gone. Wish I could turn the clock back.
At least there's still the beauty of nature. Thank God that will go on long after we are all in the ground.

I love it when the sky is blue like that. It means low humidity. We are having a foggy morning as we head into Fall. It rained yesterday after two dry weeks. I am grateful for the sake of my plants. Hope I can figure out how to keep them happy while we go leaf peeping for a few days. We are due for some rain then also so they may be fine.

This one was fairly easy to do. I had cataract surgery on Wednesday and my pupil is smaller than average and I could only see out of a pinhole of an opening. Everything was extremely dark. My eye is still bloody and a bit swollen but I'm beginning to see some better.

You need to rest your eyes, Annie. We and the puzzles will still be here.

Hi pixi,
Glad to be able to tell you I am feeling better this week. I will go to the ophthalmologist tomorrow to find out how my eye is doing since the cataract surgery. The redness is almost gone and the pain is much more bearable. Thanks for the advice to rest my eyes. Hope all is well with you. It was beautiful here in Michigan today. How is it there in New York? I hope you have a good evening.

Hi Anne:
So glad you are doing well. I am sad to hear you had pain connected with the surgery. Mine was pain free but I did has a lot of post op care to take for the eye. (I had the right on done but my left will need it soon.)
The severe cold seems to be over but the night temps are still plummeting into the high 20's. A few brave bulbs are blooming. They are called glories of the snow and are blue with white centeres. really love them. Daffies will start soon.

Oh dear. Lots of typos. My eyes are infected and hurt today. They have ointment in them but sting when I do puzzles.

You had better take your own advise and rest your eyes. The sun is so bright today that I have to wear my dark sunglasses. But I will never complain about the sun. I hope you have a super weekend.

It's been a beautiful weekend. I'm about to head out to the yard to pull up grass that has grown into every flower bed and made a real mess. We are due for rain tomorrow. I hope it helps my hollies to make a come back. Two bad winters back to back have killed back half the growth on the survivors and totaled two bushes. I also lost a fir that was 6 feet tall. We are due for cooler weather this week, too.

Cactus reminds me of one of my Grandmas. She always had a bunch of different types of cactus in her house and they always looked awesome. I always managed to kill mine thinking they were thirsty all the time and learned later I overwatered them. Maybe I should try again since I know better now and haven't had one in years.
