I saw this and it took me back to the days when I was unafraid of going out alone to explore. I am pretty much sticking to scenes that require little effort to reach. I love white water streams but there aren't any around here. I may have to start working from photos to do this sort of thing. Thankfully I have hundreds to choose from.
But it isn't like the joy of working on the spot.
My kind of place to visit. Often these spots require more hiking than I can now manage but not always. :-) Too bad the sky is grey. It robs the scene of some of its glory. Almost finished with a painting I started over 2 weeks ago. Had the most beautiful day for it. Drove for an hour to get there, only to discover when unpacking I had forgotten my eisel. Not to be deterred I jerry-rigged my director's chir to hold the painting then sat on a bucket holding the paints. Not as comfy as usual but it worked which is the main thing.
Hope you can keep things working today, too.
An artist is never stopped by what appears insurmountable. Their creativity allows them to think outside the box and find a solution to the problem. Happy you were able to nearly finish your painting.

Not being able to hike to places we'd love to visit rings a loud bell with me and my hubby. There are waterfalls in the NC mountains that we'd love to get back to but he'd not be able to make the hike. Well, I've got pictures of them that I took and have had blown up into framed wall art, so we can look at them and reminisce.

Started a new one. Please say a quick prayer I don't fall off the trail when I'm carting my stuff to the spot. It isn't so high falling would kill me but it might be a long time b4 someone would be along to help if I broke something. Should try my cell to see if it works there. Thanks. It's a really gorgeous spot or I wouldn't bother.

Anyway had a really good painting day and no injuries. Will be doing at least one more sitting there, probably tomorrow b4 it rains on Monday and the water level changes. It looks good so far. Hope I don't spoil it.

So far it's still looking good. Didn't get hurt climbing up and down (TBTG) and still have the strength to do it (also TBTG).

I feel your emotional pain, Miss Aussie. I have been going through a lot lately myself. Jake's angelversary is the 20th of this month, my hubby has been gone 7 months on the 14th, and now his dad is going. He did not know me and he was talking to his son. He is not in good shape. My kids and I are expecting a phone call any day now. Praying for better days for you my Dear.
