Secure as a fortress. Looks fairly new except the water staining at the bottom of the door. I wonder if it is a yard wall or a house wall. Does the door lead outside a garden or inside? My guess because the window in the door can only be opened from the other side is that we are outside something.

Wonderful interesting questions, pixipixil! I would have used those questions to start a brainstorming session among my 6th graders and then have them write a story about it.

My husband and many of his siblings were teachers. I did some but only for short periods of time. My longest stretch teaching was three years and only part time.

I think this could be the entrance to a walled courtyard, perhaps like you'd find at a convent or other closed society.
