Tried to grow the bachelor buttons but only got one plant. It came up again (or reseeded) last year but died without flowering. I love blue flowers. One year I had a gorgeous morning glory vine. I saved the seeds but what I got wasn't the same thing. The flowers were smaller and a lighter blue and the leaves had lobes like nightshade. It has taken over a part of the yard where I don't want it. Plants certainly seem to have their own agenda.
I remember a song from "The Fantasticks" which said, "Plant a turnip; get a turnip not a brussel sprout. That's why I like vegetables you know what's coming out." Well with hybrids it ain't so.
