I think this is such a beautiful puzzle. I know it's still November but I'm looking forward to Christmas.

The Christmas flower - such a beautiful shade of red.

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning." Mitch Albom, Tuesdays With Morrie

A beautiful movie - please watch it if you have the chance.

I was so thrilled today that the local shopping centre had a nativity display which so many centres these days do not have for fear of "offending". It was so nice to see that at least one shopping centre has the real meaning of Christmas shown. I hope more follow suit and that the singing of carols and nativity plays will once more be allowed in our schools.

God bless all of you and may the lead up to Christmas be Christ centred. Hugs.

Agreed on all points. You and I think so much alike most of the time it is almost scary.

I agree 100% with you. Our City (very small) has a Nativity scene in the Park and town folk stop by and pay respect everyday. I'm so thankful. Hugs to you to Aussie.

Aussie, I thought only the US had such silly regulations! So sorry they affect you, too. Just doesn't sound the same to call it a "Holiday Tree." Hope all of us can enjoy the beauty of the season, regardless of what we call it.

Dear Sherry - this is a bit long but hope you get some hope through the words - I wrote it in 2009

WHATEVER TODAY MAY BRING

Lord help me to roll with the punches,
Teach my heart how to sing,
To know that You're in control,
Whatever today may bring.

To lean on You in the bad times,
Rejoice and praise You for all,
To know that You are here with me,
To heed Your voice when You call.

To know behind each dark cloud
Your love is shining through,
That Your arms are tightly around me
That You are faithful and true.

When changes are on the horizon,
Those changes are in Your plan,
That the new path will lead me to riches
Not many could understand.

Use me Lord to further Your kingdom
To guide those on their way to You,
To help them learn and discover
That Your Word is steadfast and true.

So today my dear sweet Lord
Let me tenaciously to your Word cling,
My future is in Your hands
Whatever today may bring.

My prayers are with you - rest in His care. Hugs

Agree with your message 100%!!! When my children were little, I taught them to never use the word Xmas because you never ever take Christ out of Christmas! You can abbreviate with the word "Cmas" on a box of decorations but that's about all. Sounds crazy right? My oldest still calls me Crazy Mommy but I love it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sherrybee:
Your emotions are overwrought with worry and are shutting down to protect you. Prayers for your husband to get through this and for you to find those needed moments of respite from the storm.

Yes, I saw Tuesdays With Morrie - lovely film, and Jack Lemmon was one of my favourite actors. Loved his work in "The Apartment" and "Days of Wine and Roses"

Do poinsettia's have much of a scent? I have allergies toward most flowers and cant have them in the house, but I'd really like to have one of these around Christmas time.

Our altar area was filled with red poinsettias on Christmas Sunday.
Then many of them were taken to shut-ins. Some were left for the Christmas Eve service.
Many years ago my cousin was married on the Saturday evening before Christmas Sunday. The altar was full of poinsettias for the next day and it was a lovely setting for a wedding. The bride wore white velvet and the maid of honor (me! ) wore garnet velvet.
