Prayer request: My son-in-law. John, has just been diagnosed with esophogial cancer. Will meet with an oncologist in a week or so to discuss treatment options - probably chemo and radiation then surgical removel. I have no idea about timeline yet. Please pray for that family. My daughter is severly disabled with arthritis and will be unable to give him much of the home care he is likely to need. In fact he is currently her major caregiver. Thank you all!

I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers go out to him. Nothing is easy and with his wife in her condition, it surely won't be easy. I know how difficult it is for me to do certain things because I had a fractured spine. However, I am getting back to more normal, but still flustrating--whitch I know it is for all of you. God bless you all.

Not good:-\ Please have him look into alternative therapies, he might still go conventional route but there is a LOT he can do ho help remedy this situation with lifestyle changes. Cancer doesn't come from no where, my dad has the same thing.

Praying.
Could their church -- or some organization -- gather a group who would be willing to make a "HELP" schedule to help that family?

Nlb, my prayers are with you tenfold! Just hearing the word "cancer" strikes fear in all of us. But as you've heard from several others, cancer in the esophageal area is usually very treatable. He's probably more concerned for his wife and their combined care needs right now. My husband and I are in almost the same boat, and we're staring at the probability of hiring an at-home Caregiver. They're expensive! God bless your whole family as you go through these trying times. Hugs...

JoyceRogers, I had to pay for an in home caregiver a few years back and yes, they are expensive. If you qualify for medicaid, they may help with paying for one.

I've had pickled onions and pickled cucumber, of course, but I don't think I've ever had pickled carrots, corn or cauliflower. They didn't include pickled okra which I rarely have but do like.

I love pickled cabbage. My grandfather and I used to make it as we both loved it. It's not cole slaw which is creamy.
The "dressing" is mainly vinegar, sugar and water.
I used to make a carrot dish (relish) which you reminded me about. I must look up the recipe and do it again! Thanks!

I'm with you JAMP124, love smaller puzzles within puzzles. I especially like things in containers, so you can do the edges of the bowls or baskets first and then fill it in.
