Hey all my friends. I didn't get on to do a puzzle right now. It is 9:25am. Sam and I just came into the house and we needed to get our sadness out to our special friends. We just got back from the vet. We had to put our little min pin dog down. Tuffy was 15 years and 8 months. His kidneys had failed back in December. Sam has been going into the vet 4 times a week to have them poke him and put water in him. He lasted 3 months longer than the vet thought he would. Earlier this morning at 4 am I was rapping up to get off the computer and I heard a noise. Tuffy was laying on his bed. I knew he was having a seizure so I went to get Sam out of bed. Sam laid on the couch with him until 8 am so he could call the vet and tell them it was time. Of course I went with them. Tuffy had settled down and cuddled up in Sam's neck on the way into town. We are going to have him cremated. He will have a special place on our shelf for his urn and paw print. Pray for Sam to give him strength. He has been crying because they were really close. I loved him too but I have always been a stronger person. Sometimes I wish I wasn't. My time will come. When he was younger he always slept under the covers by me because Sam tosses around all night. We loved him very much.

Beckydent, my Penney was having seizures every 30 mintues - grand mal ones - and I put her down just like you did. It wasn't easy, as she had been with me for over 16 years. I still miss her, but the memories aren't sad ones now. Loving hugs to you and Sam.

Just got up from a nap because I had been up all night til early afternoon. First thing I did was check for any remarks from you guys. Thank you so much. I was reading them to Sam and crying because what you all wrote met so much to us. Sam has gotten over 100 comments on facebook and a few phone calls He grew up in his younger years in Reno NV and was very popular. Our cat is looking for Tuffy. I saw her go look in shower and sniff cupboards. Maybe we should have let her see him before we left. The last few weeks she has been going up to him and sniff him and he let her. I know she knew something was wrong. I see some of you have gone threw this lately. Sorry for your lose also. Thank you friends so much.

Lost my sweet kitty Booboo on my sons 37 birthday last July. Miss her still. She had a heart condition and weighed in about 4 pounds. But she was a happy girl. Know your pain but be blessed with the love he gave you both.

Sorry manatee for your loss. That was just two days after losing our dog. rpayne14 sorry about your loss and what bad timing on your sons birthday. Thank you every one else that just wrote. Every day something happens like a story on TV that is about animals. Sam went to a little store down the road and when he went in he saw some food he had just bought for Tuffy. He just stood there and the lady that works there asked if he was ok so he told her what had happened. He has to go to the dump today and doesn't want to because up until Tuffy started getting sick he loved riding in the truck with him to go there. He will have a hard time for quit awhile because he has such a soft heart. He is now talking to our cat, Annie, to try to get her to come over by him. She actually laid on his legs for awhile. She is spending more time in the living room now. She is not a cat that likes to be held. She was about one years old when she wondered into our yard so she likes to be on her own a lot. She is about six now. She is starting to get in our bed and lay between us for short times. We have so many wonderful memories of Tuffy and try to talk about them. He said that when we had our other dog he was working and after he passed he wasn't working any more so he was closer to Tuffy. that made it harder on him now because they were together every day. Well thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Aww, your husband sounds like a sweetie, beckydent. It takes a long time before the memories stop hurting. My cat was not a cuddler either, and that was fine with me, but she was a talker and I loved having conversations with her. I can pick up her paw print from the vet's office whenever I am ready.

Beckydent just did this puzzle and saw what you wrote about Tuffy and your husband Sam...and so many others who have recently lost beloved pets. My heart goes out to you in your loss.I lost my dearest dog in 2001 and I still miss her so much. But I will always have a dog and/or cat -- I feel it is so worth giving and getting all that love, despite the pain when the pass. My sweet parents stopped adopting new pets in their retirement, because they said they couldn't go through the loss anymore. I understood, but still...when my dad was alone and without a pet in his early 90s I really wanted to get him a cat for company, but he still said he couldn't bear the loss..I was tempted to say, Dad, at this point can you be sure you'll outlive a kitten?! " Bless him...and you.

Thank you. I was doing puzzles last night. One of Tuffys beds lays right by me. As I moved back I looked down to make sure his head wasn't in the way and he wasn't there. Sam and I are having a hard time but I know it will take some time. We had him for 15 years and 8 months.
