This puzzle reminded me of a neighbor I had in Honduras. She was from the States and taught biology at the University of Honduras. She had a huge parrot who did not like her daughter and kept biting her leg. The poor girl had scars all over her legs. The parrot also ate, yes ate, all the feathers that he could reach on his body. He was the worst tempered ugliest bird I have ever seen! Thank God, not all parrots are like this one!! Have a wonderful day and may you all be inundated with blessings!

Lol nborchardt - my sister has a cat like that - very nasty and she is the only one who can touch her. I thought she was beginning to like me and was there last week and she let me pat her once then attacked, nasty piece of work lol. Hugs.

I've heard that birds will de-feather themselves when they are stressed. Sounds like that bird was really stressed.

I don't understand how a parent can choose to keep a pet that abuses their child, and when a child is left with scars like that, it's abuse. If you can explain this to me, I'd be truly glad to know, as I sometimes find that I don't look at something from all sides.

Good Morning to all of you. I really wish this was a good morning, but I do have some bad news. My niece Kayla, age 24 has tried to commit suicide yesterday by aspirin overdose. She is in the hospital in ICU with a respirator. The Drs. don't know if she will make it. Please, if you can pray for KAYLA in your prayer groups. I would very much appreciate all your efforts; would miss Kayla at the holidays if she were gone. She is really a good kid, just has so many problems throughout her young life, it all became too overwhelming for her. Thank you all for your understanding. God Bless.
p.s. What happened to Aussiesapphire, have seen her posts in a few days?

Aussie was posting a couple of days ago, but I have no personal info from her. She was having pain in her legs and hips, perhaps from a pinched nerve. I'm hoping she's okay, too.

Poor Kayla, that life just was too much to handle - does she pray, too? God will always listen and send help. She's definitely in my prayers!

I will keep Kayla in my prayers. I have a personal connection when it comes to suicide. My youngest son died by suicide at the age of 21. I have since become an advocate for suicide awareness and prevention. We may not understand why young people attempt to take their own lives. I have since learned it is all in God's hands. I just pray that Kayla will pull through. It is so heartbreaking on the family and friends left behind to question "Why."

Thank you folks for your concern. I had a CT scan a cuple of days ago to see if anything was pressing on a nerve which would cause the pain. Also had my quarterly blood test this morning and it takes a couple of days to get the results to the doctor. Monday is a holiday, so hoping to get in to see the doctor on Tuesday. Will let you know the results. You are an amazing bunch and I pray for all of you daily. Hugs.

Thank you aknan for your information and prayers. Kayla did go to church and prayed. She believed in God. She has had for many years, border line personality disorder. She would be fine for a long time, then something would click the wrong way in her brain. She felt like she would have to act on it no matter if it seemed illogical. She took too many pills. Very sad. Sorry to say, she passed away this afternoon. Kayla was an organ donor, so it will be a few days before the funeral. Thank you for all the prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Sorry to say Kayla was pronounced brain dead this afternoon, after the EEG test. She was taken off the respirator. She passed moments later with her mother by her side. They live in Chicago, but Kayla lived mostly in FL. She will be buried here by us. She was an organ donor, so it will take a few days. Thank you all, you're such a great support group.

Aussie, so glad to see you back again, you were missed. Get better quickly.
God bless you all.

Tomandray, I'm so sorry about Kayla, but she is now in the loving arms of God and all will be well. How wonderful that she was an organ donor - she's given a new life to another person in desperate need. That is a blessing on her soul.

Tomandray, I am so sorry to hear about Kayla. God is merciful. In my Faith, the writings tell us that those who take their lives are welcomed into the next world with unconditional love and acceptance. God never forgets or turns away what He has created. Kayla is in the loving embrace of the Heavenly Father and knowing and feeling joy that has no words to describe. You and your family will be in my prayers. And remember, God wraps you His arms to help you, also. Prayers.

Looks like one parrot has a damaged wing. Such beautiful feathers and such clever birds. With those claws and beaks I wouldn't want to argue with one. I imagine if one were alone and housebound it would make a good companion in lieu of a dog, cat or monkey. They are like children, tho...in need of constant attention and stimulation.
Hope you all have enough company to not need a parrot to talk to you.

Years ago I had a friend who had a parrot for a pet. This was when he was living at home but he was in his 20's then.

My Aunt and Uncle had two parrots for many years. One was named Pedro, and the other named Casey. They both talked A LOT! Thay could even have conversations (in English! ), calling each other by name. However, Casey decided that Pedro's name was "PedroCasey! " From then on, Pedro would only answer to the combined name! Funny birds!

They must have liked the sound of the name Casey. Animals have such interesting personality quirks.
