Looks a bit like a Monarch butterfly. We have a butterfly house on the island where I live started by a retired farmer with a delightful sense of humour. When I asked him why he got into this he said that he had read somewhere that when farmers retire and move off the land, within two years they are dead and in his words "and that is not good for your health". He and his wife a lovely people and are presently in the throes of building a much bigger butterfly house on the island.

"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." Nathaniel Hawthorne

And that is exactly what happens in the peace and tranquillity of the butterfly house.

Good night dear friends and God bless. Hugs.

Truly love the butterflies and butterfly houses. There's a great one in Denver, Colorado, if anyone should travel there - well worth your time!

Read this yesterday - "We shall find peace. We shall hear angels. We shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds." Anton Chekov - This is actually God's promise to His children and the physical sign is a rainbow, also known as God's promise.

Pretty butterfly. Had to look this one up and found it is a "Danaus chrysippus, " also known as the plain tiger or African monarch, and is widespread in Asia and Africa.

This is a Monarch Butterfly.

Monarch butterflies could soon be included on the Endangered Species List. A total of 52 members of Congress have signed onto a petition urging President Barack Obama to support such an inclusion. The Monarch Butterfly population has reportedly decreased by 90 percent during the past two decades. (Since 1990, about 970 million have vanished. The lawmakers want the butterfly species to be noted as threatened under the Endangered Species Act – ESA.

There is a lot of Info. on this butterfly on Google. Just enter its name and you will find a great deal about it.
