Awesome volcano quietly puffing away. That looks like very fertile land...a rice paddy possibly? We don't get greens as lush as these.
Wouldn't mind visiting but wouldn't want to live near one. You can never tell when they'll erupt lthough usually there are warnings in time to evacuate but who wants to lose a home even if you save your skin? Most of the prettiest places are in dangerous locations especially now with global warming. I love spectacular landscapes but there aren't many close to us. The one park that is is being neglected due to poor funding. So sad.

According to Wikipedia the Philippines has 23 active volcanos. Wow!

Trynfindit knew there were a lot of volcano's in the Philippines but 23!!! Wow is right. The mountain range I live in is Cascades, it runs from Mt. Lassen in California west of Redding, up into Canada and includes Mt. St. Helens.We live within 30 miles of several active volcano's. One of the mountains is called the Three Sisters and for the last 10 years a bulge has been growing on the side of the South Sister, they have been montering it's growth. The closest one to us is Paulina Peak, there is the second largest obsidian flow in the world there. If you hike the trail that has been made through the flow to the top you get an idea just how large of an area it covers...fantastic view!!! Be safe.
