Apologies to anyone who owns one of these dogs, but I find them very unattractive :(

I don't really care for this breed either. They are so unattractive. Not crazy about bulldogs either or terriers. My husband wants a bulldog named Winston and dress it in Harley leathers. he is weird!!!

My first thought: Not a very good looking dog. But it looks very attentive in this pose.

Mamag, when you say he is weird, are you referring to a dog or your husband?

Does your husband cycle, mamag? I have two friends from music school (whom I haven't seen in years but kept in touch with one) who are avid cyclists. They are two of the smartest, sweetest women I have ever met.

As to the bulldog idea--he might not have much luck with that. I tried to put a leather-like coat on our dalamation and he tore it off immediately. It's so cold here in the winter I just wanted to keep him warm but I guess it scared him--was too stiff maybe?

Pixi, my husband's cousin also rides her Harley with a group of her friends. We used to ride when he was healthier but we can't ride anymore. We were thinking about a trike. I don't know how I would handle with my knee replacements though. I would love to go cruising again. As for the Dalmatian, the leather might have been too stiff for him. A bulldog has thicker skin so it might not bother them as much. A nice doggy sweater might be what your dog needs.

That was long ago. We had to put the dalmation in the pound because he nipped a neighborhood kid and my husband was too afraid he'd give some child a serious bite. We haven't had a dog since as I discovered I'm allergic. Our house is too small for a big dog and neither of us want the work any more. We don't even have a cat. Same reason.

I am sorry about your dog pixi. I don't want any pets either for the same reason you have.

My dad was incredibly allergic to dogs (and cats, and a few dozen other things) but he & my mom heard that a long-haired Chihuahua wouldn't bother his asthma so they got one. He was an adorable little guy - we named him Joe - and dad never had any kind of allergic reaction to Joe. That was one cute dog.

Abacii, if you get one of these dogs when they are still a puppy, they grow on you.

Hiya, Aussie! Oh, like the bad penny, I'm still around - lol! Been a bit slower on the jigsaws - had a stroke at the end of last May which affected my motor skills a bit - but not my face or speech and I'm still walking my lovely dog every day (gotta have that!!! )

Sorry to hear about the stroke jiggler. I used to have a lot of mini strokes and then a young guy prayed for me nearly 18 months ago and have only had one since then. Praise God. And hugs to you and for better health. Glad it didn't affect your face or speech. Loving hugs.

Didn't the original sized bull terriers fight bulls (in viscious dog packs)? I must check this out, as I hope it does not still occur on the Iberian Penninsula.

Thanks to you all for your comments on my joining in with the puzzles. I have good health, but the aches and pains of old age, are the theme of the day. I will pray for you requests and do the puzzles of the day, I do all my puzzles by using 88 piece, classic. Anything under 10 minutes is great, anything over that was a hard puzzle. Don't play for quickness but fun. And I want to know if "Crabman" and his closes competitor are computers. i.e. 3 minute puzzle? I would love to see a demonstration of that. lol

I agree with you, 1hatesigning1n. There is just no way that a human being can possibly move that many pieces in such a short time. I find this phenomenon in Majong and word find games to be commonly occurring, also. Praise God that I was not afflicted with the drive to speed through my games, books, and daily tasks. How could anyone have fun when they and their minds are moving so fast that they do not notice anything around them?
