My husband was an Army Veteran and though he is gone almost three years I am still a very proud Veteran's widow. Go Army.

Dbnc2 Oh yes, such handsome fellows, your husband and mine, how I miss him. Loved those days when he came home from the air force and forever after too. He passed in 2010 on his 90th birthday.

We should all be so lucky as to serve our country.

I was raised to believe in the importance of the military and that we owe them a lot of respect and admiration. I want to say thank you to my friends who served in the military: Dawn in the US Army, Mary & Marian in the US Air Force and Kim in the US Marines.

God bless all those men and women who fought for our freedom.

Billy Graham
"Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened."

Bless you one and all. Hugs.

I so agree but lets also remember the families

That Billy Graham quote reminds me of the song Stout Hearted Men.
Give me some men who are stout-hearted men
Who will fight for the right they adore.
Start me with ten who are stout-hearted men and
I'll soon give you ten thousand more.
Shoulder to shoulder and bolder and bolder
They grow as they go to the fore.
Then there's nothing in the world can halt or mar a plan.
When stout-hearted men will stick together man to man.

Can't recall ever having heard the song before but I believe it is true. Thank God for stout hearted men.

I remember the song - seem to think Nelson Eddy sang it years ago, but could be wrong.
Nov 12, 2013
Probably was Nelson Eddy. It's from an operetta--The New Moon. I have a collection of operettas on vinyl and although I have a turntable I haven't listened to them in years. They don't have the original cast so I'd have to look up if Eddy and MacDonald sang in it.

Yes, definitely Nelson Eddy - a very stirring scene, too!
