Climbed many pyramid steps--not sure whether I did this one or not. Not a bad puzzle to put together.

Walking up the Chechen Itza Pyramid was a wonderful experience although coming down was a little frightening. I hear that you cannot climb it any more. It is dangerous for a person without common sense. There are no rails to keep you from stepping off. My husband and the rest of our group chose not to go up.

Beautiful mystery, and not too hard.

PurplePandora Whne we went to Chizen Itza I climbed the pyramid but now it is closed and no one can climb up. It was not bad climbing up and even walking around at the top, but coming down was difficult. I climbed down backwards. I just could not look out and climb down. They had a rope to hold onto. It was definitely worth the climb.

Just fascinating to learn about the old cultures and how they did some of the stone masonry so well - and also to understand some of the symbolism and rituals - would love to visit them.

Amazing that these structures were built without the modern things we use to build. All human labor! Wow! One great puzzle!

A friend and I vacationed in Cancun. We took a very long bus ride through the jungle to see Chichen Itza. She climbed this pyramid almost to the top. I watched. It was Oct. and so darned hot I thought I might die. She went up on all fours and had to sit and scoot one step at a time to get down. It is incredibly steep!
Chichen Itza which means "at the mouth of the well of Itza ", is the 2nd most visited archeological site of Mexico today. The Kukulkan Pyramid which is known as "El Castillo" (the castle), is one of the new seven wonders of the world elected in 07.07.2007. It is exactly 24 m. high considering the upper platform. Apart from the Kukulkan Pyramid, in Chichen Itza there many other archaeological sites to visit, all carrying traces from Mayan Culture in many ways.
