I had my stitches and staples removed this afternoon also. Ahhhhhh...relief! Now I have to concentrate on healing quickly as my hubby has the same surgery (lumbar fusion) in August. Here we go again!

Had lumbar fusion years ago. Miserable. Hopefully newer methods prevail. God blessings for a quick recovery for you and hubby.

My aunt had that. I hope I never have to. Thinking of getting a spinal gives me the creeps. God bless you Joyce, hubby and Cindy. May you never have to repeat that awful ordeal.

My father had a spinal tap and was informed that they don't do them like they used to. They took him to the OR to put him to sleep. Then they did the spinal tap.

I hope there is treatment today and you can continue to function. My mother had MS and there was no treatment then. I wish you the best of luck.

I had a spinal tap, also called a lumbar puncture, last year to diagnose my MS. I was awake for the whole thing, but it wasn't bad at all. The only thing painful about it was laying on my stomach! I had to hold completely still for the whole procedure which took place under a huge MRI machine so the doctor could see where the needle was going. They numb the area, so you really can't feel a thing.

I'm sure different doctors do it differently, but I'm very glad I had it done. It was the final test that revealed that I have MS. It answered a whole lot of questions, and made it possible to get the treatment that I needed.

I'm so sorry to hear you have MS, Joyce. I understand knowing what's wrong is better than being in the dark. At least you can begin to get some help.

I've been to France as well twice. Have been to other countries. Some I loved and others I'd never go back but were an adventure. I was in one destination - I was so nervous that I thought I was going to die!

I've only seen the Maya Pyramids in books and film, but never up close.
