I thought the following poem was by Dorothea McKeller, but it was attributed to another poet.

"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils."
– William Wordsworth, I Wander'd Lonely as a Cloud

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

I do believe that every school child in Illinois, when I went to school many, many years ago, read this poem in either 4th or 5th grade and I have loved it since then. Thanks for the reminder of more innocent times, aussie!

If I remember correctly it is by William Wordsworth who lived in the Lake District in England, same area as I was brought up.In the Spring when daffodils are in bloom the sight on a bright day makes the flowers glow gold and it is a truly wonderful sight. London is 28c t present and it is so hot so if you have the same weather then make sure you drink plenty of cold water and stay in the shade. God bless you all.

Definitely Wordsworth, aussie. I remember reading this in 5th or 6th grade and liking it so much I checked out a book of his poetry from the library. Unfortunately, don't remember most of it....

Barbaranna, winter for us now and I think it is one of the coldest winters we have had. I can remember a few years ago I only used my heater twice, but this year I have had it on almost every day and July and August are our coldest months and we are not even there yet. How is your leg? Hope it has improved by now. Hugs.

My leg is a nuisance it will not heal, it grows bigger each time it is dressed. the Prof is hoping to skin graft it again, I see him on, Monday and just maybe he will give me a date for it, provided It is not infected. A low infection is ever present and a pest. I cannot imagine winter at this time of the year especially as it is so hot a perfect blue sky without a cloud. Bless you, hope that it will warm up a little for you.

Oh, Barbaranne, I pray that God grants you patience in this healing process. Infections keep many of us from receiving treatment and I hope yours clears up soon! Blessings to you.

I so need to get away!! This looks like the perfect place. 4 classes starting on Tuesday, 2 major assignments by Monday, one big assignment due by Friday and lots of reading, papers, and videos. Almost done with two of my classes and then it will be back to 2 courses. I just pray that I continue strong. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I love that verse from Philippians 4:13. Have a blessed day all my puzzle friends.

Thank you Aussie, and trynfindit. I am trying to hang in there but it is not going to be easy. With all this school work and helping hubby, I am going crazy. I sure do appreciate the good thoughts and prayers.

Ugh! Hubby is in the hospital - then I bumped into a friend in the ER. She was in the walting room area and then called. Returns back to the waiting room and looks at me and says oh I know you. Helped a father with his handicapped daughter. I heard him ask the staff were - I showed him where they were located. She could walk but believe she had problems communicating. Used to work with kids that were learning disabled.

I'm about 10 min. from the beach. Just saw hubby and he asked me to bring him his pain meds. I'm like honey I can't do that - just ask the nurses and they'll give you the meds. Just had a test done. He says see you in a couple min. I knew it would take 30 min.

At beaches like that you are lucky to get any where near the water through the crowds.
