Absolutely stunning!!!! I wonder where this picture was taken. Reminds me of Busch Gardens.

Love oriental gardens! Not easy to do but beautiful.

She must have a lucky streak because the stuff I followed my heart for turned out to be not so good. Maybe I have just never gotten a true picture of my inner self.

Pixipixil, I was nearly seventy before I realized I had been "settling" for my whole life. That was when I found what loving someone really felt like. We are not together but "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all is very true in my life. That was when I left the state I had lived in for most of my life - leaving most of my family behind - and truly found happiness for the first time. Don't give up. It could still happen for you.

Thanks nlb. God pretty much let me try all the things I have wanted to do but all I found out was that those things were not making me happy or I didn't have enough talent to get anywhere with them.
I was lucky to have married a very good man who took good care of me. That has not been my problem and I am most grateful that was the case. Any unhappiness has come from self disappointment or "outside forces" that have blocked me.
I thought God was having me sing at church again and now the two Masses I sang at were discontinues at both churches. I now will be singing twice a month whereas I had been singing twice a week. Perhaps it was just more than I could handle. It was exhausting at my age.
I'm 76 and have no clue what should come next.
But thanks for the hopeful wishes. I just have to wait for God to make a clear statement.

I've always loved Colonial Wiliamsburg and for years my taste in furniture and gardening went in that direction. Then we owned a 2nd house in the NC mountains and I realized that's where my heart is (and has been, actually, since my years in summer camp in Brevard NC as a pre-teen & teen). We had to sell our beloved cabin and I decided there and then my style changed - if we couldn't be in NC I'd bring it down here (n.e. Fla). Our furniture is more relaxed - we brought our live-edge black walnut mantle boards here, had a dining room table made in NC from black walnut, changed rug styles, that sort of thing. And our garden has gone to a British/American type of semi-controlled chaos.

Give me a Japanese garden any day. There gardens have little open space but never seem messy or crowded.
Hope your day is full of good things.
