Hard Candy Jigsaw Puzzle

My husband died in May and the marker on his grave only got installed a few days ago. I had a hard time with the company who cast them. I had used this company for my son's marker and since my husband was buried nearby I wanted a match so I went back to the place I got my son's. They contacted me to say they moved and the name didn't match either but I didn't question that. It took a long time for them to send a mark up of the bronze plate and it was not good. They swore it matched my son's and maybe it did in measurement but not in appearance because there were fewer letters in the text so it looked empty. Instead of working with me the woman argued and I just wanted her to enlarge an area with my husband's photo to take up the slack. Instead I got a letter from the fabricators they used saying it matched my son's marker.
I was very angry and wrote to the company to tell them I didn't care if they swore an oath it matched I didn't like the look of it. Now I worked professionally in advertising and illustration so I knew how to do the mark up myself so I sent one redone as I wanted it on rid so there would be no question about the size or placement of images and text. It took me a morning to do the artwork but for $3000 plus for a simple marker I thought it should be the way I wanted it. They sent an apology and a month later I got a revised version which was okay. Why they needed to do anything but use what I sent I don't know. By now it was August and I was going on a trip in mid September. When I got back I had a letter requesting the balance for the marker and it said it would be in place in a week or so. I got back more than a week after the letter was sent so I went to look and there was no marker. I called the cemetery and they couldn't install the plaque because the bolt placement didn't match the holes that were drilled in the granite slab to which it had to be attached. I prayed to hear from the cemetery because I hate confronting people, and I kept waiting..Nada. Finally last week I called the cemetery rep with whom I'd spoken and who had told me "the minute" the marker was in they would call. I got an answering machine. Today he called to say it was put in last week and hadn't I seen it. I said no...that he'd told me he'd call me to say when it was in. He said he just heard from the marker company now that they had installed it last week. I tried to see it today and had just gotten in the car to drive to the grave--a half hour away-- and gone about 3 miles down the road--when it started to rain so I came home. When I got back the rain was stopping. I don't think God wanted me going today. I'll go tomorrow. I wanted to go today because I want to rest tomorrow for my booster but there's lots of time to go. I don't get the shot until 6 pm.

Oh pixi I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. I hope they come through and give you what you've paid for ASAP.

Hi dbny and xyxyxy. I got down to the cmetery yesterday and the marker was installed. I took photos ans emailed them to the sisters-in-law who contributed to the marker. They are happy with it as am I.
Now I just have to get over the effects of the booster I got last night. I slept most of the day with headache, fever, sore arm and just overal feeling crumby. I just woke up and so far feel a little better.

Sorry you had such a time. It took 5 months to get what you wanted, Glad and you can relax now. I got exhausted reading what all you went through.

It will just be Sam and I. That is OK. We used to have some family over but his son got a divorce and that cut down the people plus Sam did a lot of cooking and he is glad he doesn't have to do so much. It was always at our house for some reason, They would bring a dish but that was all. We will enjoy the day. There are some movies we have been wanting to watch. Between us we have 5 boys and they are all in different states and not close at all. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving also.

Thanks becky. Today a neighbor invited me for dessert tomorrow but it didn't fit with making my turkey and a call to my brother. I wish she had asked sooner. It was nice to be asked all the same. I was thinking of going for a hike also and putting off the bird to Friday but my belly is acting up and the weather where I thought to hike doesn't look nice enough. It was really frigid here today and that park is a higher elevation so I think I'd be too cold. I've been feeling kind of tired, too.
You and your husband are having the kind of holiday my husband and I used to have. We both loved watching movies. Pick a good one for me.

I feel sorry for you being alone now. It happens to a lot of people every day. I like to watch the Hallmark movies this time of year. Sam has gotten hooked on them now. I couldn't believe it. I save them on the DVR. I may have to delete some because I am getting it to full. Sam has always acted like a tough guy but the sappy movies get to him. He try's to hide it. It's funny. I am cold blooded and it got down to freezing. I hate that. Sam is hot blooded and he always tells me I can always put on more cloths but he can only take so much off. Have a good day.

I have the same problem, always to forget to pause and then I have these incredibly high times when I finish the puzzle....I am glad I am not the only one!! Blessings to you, Mickymustard!!

If anyone finds a solution to the Pause Problem, let us know --- it seems to be universal!

I've stopped keeping track of my puzzle times. I might answer the phone, talk to a family member, etc. and never pause the 'timer'.

Trynfindit....I do believe you have the right idea!! LOL!

I've given too. One night I fell asleep, awoke and went to bed. When I got up in the morning I had 16 hours lol.
