Another great puzzle of my favorite animal. Beautiful cool day In the St. Louis area. Fall is coming quickly. I just moved to a different Apt.
in the same complex to the high rise, so can enjoy the tops of the
trees as they change colors. Enjoy it when the hummingbirds look in my windows and some insects land on the glass. A Kadydid spent a whole day walking around my living room window. I haven't
found my reticulated giraffes yet. The movers are going to come some day and hang all my pictures and plaques for me. Enjoy your day. Espi in St. Louis.

Hello. I called my giraffes in the painting "articulated" and it should have been "reticulated". I hadn't used their names in years. The Mississippi River is flooding here in the St. Louis area. My son and family came over to take me out to eat for Mother's Day and to celebrate their son's 15th birthday which will be this next Sunday. We enjoyed the German meal and music at the Hof Brau Haus restaurant. It is like the one in Munich, Germany. Our son was born
in Germany and remembers being at the one in Munich when he was 10.They spent part of the afternoon here at my Apt. at Our Lady of the Snows Shrine in Illinois. They just got across the bridge on the way home when they closed the bridge behind them. The water's force is threatening to topple it. Many people in Illinois cross that bridge everyday to work in St. Louiis, MO. Now they will have to find another way across. All the snow in Minnesota and Iowa this year is appearing here as fast moving water. I am lucky to live on a hill so don't need to worry about flooding. Enjoy your afternoon. It's a beautiful sunny day here around 70 degrees. Espi at the Shrine

Love them!

If you weigh 200 pounds on Earth, you'll be only 76 pounds on Mars. You're not overweight, your're just not on the right planet.

Morning: Tired
Afternoon: Dying for a rest
Night: Can't sleep.

I always knew I'd get old. How fast it had happened was a bit of a surprise, though!

Elijah you are right on target today. I guess it seems sudden because we keep pushing the reality away until one day, holy cow, we see who we really have become.
Not at all what I expected, either.

Elijah loved your posts this morning, got my morning laughs. Thanks, I find if my mornings start with a laugh usually my whole day goes well. Getting old so fast for sure caught me by surprise......can't figure out where the years between when my son was born until he was grown went, thought it would last longer!! Take care and be safe.

I always thought I could do better with my weight worries on Mars!! Great thoughts today, Elijah! I just turned 70 this year and I would be lying if I said it wasn't a bit hard to realize I made that milestone. But I started thinking. Before I married my hubbie almost 3 years ago, I was living in an "old people's highrise". I was, as far as I know, the only one in the complex that was still working, able to drive, and had a lot of friends that I would visit. I could walk, I could take care of myself and did not have to have anyone to come in and help me. I could walk my dog 3-4 times a day and I had peace of mind that I could do what I needed to do. What a blessed life I had! I could do things most of the people in my apartment building could not do. Now I am even more blessed by sharing my life with this wonderful man who thinks I'm fabulous! I know I am blessed and have been blessed for most of my life and I firmly believe that. And I thank God every single day for His help in my life. I am getting older and I find I can't clean as long as I could before without repercussions in my body rebelling, so I slow down and rest and then continue, but I can still do it myself. I look at it this way, I wake up every morning on the "right side of the sod"! May laughter be your companion, blessings be your path, and love embrace you everyday, all day! Love my friends, the Silver Puzzlers.

Yes. getting old seems to creep up so quickly. I try to act as young as possible. Enjoying the company of other older residents at my retirement home brightens my days.
We relate funny things and sad things that occurred in our lives at meals....we laugh a lot. Keep on keeping young at heart. Espi

Nborchardt so enjoyed your post it brought both smiles, laughter and tears when I read it. Thank you. I can identify with so much of what you said. I used to be extremely busy with the family, the house and working, have slowed down because of the back problems and the epilepsy but I still do all my own stuff except drive. The doctor took my drivers license away because of the epilepsy, so hubby or son drive me, which I really hate. I lost my independence that day, if they ever get my seizures under control I can my license back. Really loved the line about the" right side of the sod", laughed so loud my son came out of his room to check on me.....it was just too funny!! You and your hubby take care, have fun and be safe.

I never married so I have no one! However I have wonderful nieces that come over and help me when necessary. So far I am doing OK at 82! I am a lot slower but things do eventually get done.

EspiviaCanda I haven't seen you post before, it's always great to have someone new post. There is always room for new perspectives and memories. Welcome to the group, hope to hear from you again. It's good you have company to help brighten your days and just having someone to talk to or even just listen to you is worth its weight in gold. I try to at least keep my mind young and laughter is my most important tool in arsonal even if my body tells me no, no, no!! Be safe and take care :-)

It sure is an eye opener when we realize that we probably only have a few years left to live. And they will probably be the least healthy ones of our life. But what is really amazing is how old the people look and act that we worked with in the past.

That is a truism, retirenow14! Then I look in the mirror and realize I really am their age!! I believe there were 2 posts here from people's names I do not recognize, but then I'm old!!! LOL! Welcome EspiviaCanda and retirenow14, and if you have posted before, think kindly of my lapse of remembering. Blessings to both of you!

I love clothes and know how to design and make them. It's hard to be reconciled to the fact I'll never have time to sew the material I already have into anything and even if I did I have no place to wear it...nor look that good because my face is all wrinkled. It takes away any ambition to improve or achieve especially since I have no children to leave anything for.

I have always had an interest in giraffes. I have a painting of a pair of articulated giraffes. One of my favorite possessions. Espi

What an incredibly sweet looking face. Too bad, they are so bad tempered - just like camels, but they are much cuter.
