I've been to the arch and rode it to the top. It was awesome. Wouldn't and probably couldn't do it now.

I've been there once too - I'm slightly claustrophobic, so getting into the really small elevator to get to the top was kind of stressful for me. I was literally shaking. Once I got to to the top, I was ok.

Lived in St.Louis while they were building it, apts where we were we could see them building. Went up in it once never want to do it again, it sways in the wind. Looked out 1 window then sat on the steps until we were ready to go down....don't like heights, can't understand why the apt. on the 25th floor did not bother me, even went out on the balcony sometimes, hated the pool as it was on top of the building surrounded by glass. Only lived there one year.

Hi CatLadyOKC, Wow I wouldn't get in that pool for sure. I am not a fan of great heights. Just went to Caves this past weekend with my church group and got myself in some predicaments where I had to walk close to the edge of some cliff areas that were high up but made it and will never go back there either. LOL I want my feet planted on good solid ground. LOL Hope you and hubby are doing well.

Good to hear from you, we are doing good, just getting old...Hubby had eye appt. yesterday he didn't have to get the shot & we don't have to go back until Sept. Staying indoors the bugs are terrible outside and a/c is running. Has been hot this week, but haven't got rain so far since the end of May, but they say we will get some over the weekend. May almost did me in with all the storms we had, worst May on record for the time we have lived here. Good to hear from you...

We haven't had rain till yesterday. Saying we are in a drought. Rain again today. We've had two bad storms. I saw where you were getting tornadoes. We had threat of one but it didn't touch ground thank goodness. Getting old here too......sure isn't what I like...lol I have to stay inside when it's really hot and humid. Temps have been in high 80's to 90's. Hopefully the storms are over for you and for us for that matter. Take care....

So far not bad storms this last week, we are back in the rain again...& when is does our ground is to wet still that we are still having areas flooding around the city. Getting things done they say we can thunderstorms starting around 2 pm today. Don't think any where in the state is still in the drought. We have had just a little over a week of sun this month was nice but the humidity was terrible. Spend most of the time inside, but I'm doing lots of puzzles & lots of reading.

Wish I could get into reading again. I go in spurts with reading. Trying to get back into puzzling more. Just heard on scanner we have a big warehouse fire at one of the chemical plants. Hope everyone got out. They have four fire units there now.

Wow, that can be bad...be sure & stay in. Still reading my 8 or more books each month. If we get lightning my computer is down & unpluged-have wireless rotor so don't have cable hooked to it. I have a surge protector, but that won't stop the lightning if it hit near so I just unplug it when it's in a storm going through the area, that has been giving me plenty of time to read last month & this one. Grandson has been trying to keep the grass mowed for us, but finding a day he is off work & the yard is dry enough to mow without leaving ruts is a trick this year. We have not had to water it yet this spring. I think they said we had almost 20" of rain in May, broke the all time record for that month. They said only 3 lakes were below their limit in the state & one of them they were letting some water out of it because the damm was an old one (that is one that is in N. OKC.) Don't need any more flooding. Stay safe....

You too stay safe. The four alarm fire at the Chemical Warehouse Plant was under control in no time. Didn't have to evacuate as thought. I did stay in though till I thought it was all out of the air. Yes I unplug my computer too when we have storms which we had one bad lastnight. So bad I hid in the closet so I couldn't see the sharp lightning. LOL We have had seven days of rain and seven more in store. The sun may peak out for an hour or so but it's been so warm and humid. Mother nature is doing my watering also. I think of you all the time when I hear of tornadoes or bad storms your way. Enjoy your books.

Think we are going to have HOT but nice weather for the next week or so. Humidity is terrible but guess we can live with it. Good to hear from you was wondering about the fire...glad you did have to evacuate. We got lucky too, on the last storm only 3" more, a/c is starting to lower the humidity in the house has been 70-80 percent inside, not sure I want to see elec. bill next month. Have a great day!!!

Well we are having a day of sunshine and hot weather. Feel like temp is about 10 degrees higher than actual temp. At least the sun is shining for today. Not sure what tomorrow will be like. Got my laundry done today so if not to hot tomorrow I can run some errands. Glad your humidity is coming down inside your house. Yes we hate to see our bill for next month also. They read our meter this morning.......will know in a few days. Ugh! BUT, we have to stay cool. The heat is just a bit much for us. Take care and will be back to puzzles in a day or so.
