Spring cannot come soon enough. The lilacs will hopefully be better this year than last. Too wet.

The flowers are pretty, but I'm more taken with the vases! lol I enjoy anything with that "filigree" look to it. I've never seen this type of vase before, and with the white color, it makes the flowers look even prettier. Have a wonderful, meaningful day my friends.

They look so Springy. To get that look, you can take a regular and get some lace then glue it to your vases. You can get different colors to match your flowers and laces come in different widths for most size vases and flower pots.

If this is outside today they would end up in Texas both vases & flowers. Had to pin the wood gate under the carport to keep it shut!

Wow! That's pretty rough. When I lived in Joplin, MO (I was 15) we drove over to Tulsa to look at a house someone we knew built for someone else. It was a multi-million dollar home, which was pretty rare back then. I remember thinking about how awesome the house was, but more so I remember the winds! lol We hit them before getting to Tulsa, but they stayed with us for the rest of the trip, and home again. I don't envy you having to put up with that. Stay safe tonight, will you?

So glad you've been safe and protected.

Rahrah1820, I never lived in Joplin, but I've known a lot of people that have gone there for Bible college! My current pastor grew up there where his father preached at a popular church. Do you remember a preacher named Dally? The father passed away when Mike was young, but the family remained in Joplin. The church was nearly demolished in the tornado that hit several years ago. His mother's house was missed by one block, and she didn't even know there was a tornado!

Ughhhhhh I can relate, except for the rain! lol Tomorrow will be 90 and we'll hit 94 on Tuesday, with 49 being the low next Friday. I'm not read for this A/C weather already. I don't leave it on any longer than I have to, that's for sure. With that rain, you have to put up with the humidity as well, right? Makes my hair frizz just to think about it!

Joyce, imagine missing a tornado! Sounds like an act of God to me. The name Dally isn't familiar to me, but I lived there for only a year when I was 15, so that was 50 years ago. I didn't even know there was a Bible college there, maybe it wasn't there when I was. We returned to Arizona in 1968.

Not looking forward to tornados! Moore has had 2 F5 and they have been just missed by both of them one went N. and one S. of us by just a few blocks. Daughter lost every thing in the last one.
The sound of one you will never forget.

I'm so sorry for your daughter's losses. When I was a young teenager, our house burned to the ground, it was devastating. I remember when we were praying for your city a few years ago, when there was terrible tornadoes and storms. My daughter's SIL lives there and we were very concerned for them. They were okay. Was that when your daughter's losses occurred? That's all so frightening.

We have so many in this area it's hard to tell, daughter was at Moore High School the last F5 one that she lost everything. Her youngest was at the school the grade school that was complete gone & several children were killed. It was a very long day that for us. No phones or elec., and streets were shut down, but finally around 5:30 or 6 pm they all showed at our house. Yes the two largest cut large paths thru the city here. We have tornados in every month of the year, but Apr & May are usually the worst months. The weather channel usually starts showing their series of tornados before long & they normally show both of them. F5's are rare!

CatLady, I have some more friends that live in Moore, and they lost everything in the first one. I mean down to the ground, everything. They had just finished re-building when the second one hit...They were SO thankful that that one went the other direction!

Rahrah, the college is Ozark Bible College. (I think it's been re-classified as a University, but I can't remember what the name was changed to.) It's been there forever! A lot of the kids from our church attend there.

Joyce, that the one that was nearest to us, just missed us by about 3 blocks. We were just without elec. for several days. That was North of us and I worked north we could not get out of the area for several days and when we could get out it took me 45 min. to get to work that was just about 2.5 miles north of us. Yes the paths thru here most of the houses, trees were completely gone. Daughter was in a rental house there was a huge tree in her yard & it was also gone in the one South of us.

Good idea.

I wish it were time for lilacs, we have the dark purple as well as the lavender. What a nice arrangement with the filigree vases and the smooth bird.
