Never tried these except out of a can.

"Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you." —Jim Rohn

I got some batteries that were given out free of charge.

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

So they were given out because they had given out.

My dad used to bring them home at Thanksgiving. I love them. You can marinate them in a sweet liquor and they are beyond compare--called marrons.
I bought some at our grocers one year hoping to make chesnut stuffing for the turkey. When I shelled them they were moldy. They don't keep for long which I didn't know.

I think these might be horse chesnuts. You can't eat those. Chinese (edible kind) chesnuts don't have spikes on the outside.

We had what I thought was a chestnut tree but the nuts were covered in green. Could have been a walnut --- or black walnut.

I remember the green chestnuts coverings from my childhood - they had to ripen IIRC

Hot roast chestnuts out of a paper bag scald your fingers, but they're wonderful!

Can't remember ever having chestnuts. This is more like a Thanksgiving puzzle.
