I love the "idea" of a farm and I love visiting a farm, but I don't think I would be happy living on a farm. Maybe with a big family, but not alone. And a farm is an enormous amount of work. You have to love it to do it.
Lived on a small one for many years, lilbc, and you're right - the work is really never done, especially if you have animals. They don't know weekends!
