Very dry! However, deserts are very interesting.

I am late today, rain most of night and lighting and winds!

No rain today but we have had some downpours the last few days. Saw lots of vines growing up in my bushes so worked on that yesterday. Still more to do but will wait--a little at a time.

We had flood warnings for our area on the news for two days and hardly got a spit of rain. I put in the last of my plants hoping the rain would make the transplant easier on them. Hah. They are doing well anyway, tho.
We have tons of vines in our yard growing all along our fence which is 150x55 so imagine keeping on top of that. It's killing me.

I know about vines. When our association had a awful fence behind our houses I put up vines to hide it. Then, after taking pictures and showing them how horrible it was, a few years ago they replaced it..However, now I have vines from the old fence that I am still trying to get rid of. Ugh!

Yes. I put in a wisteria and a trumpet vine. When I saw them becoming invasive I cut them down and it did no good at all. They are everywhere along with the wild stuff the birds have planted.
I also tried to get rid of a thornless blackberry bush and a persimmon but both keep popping up in odd spots. In short I have a jungle.

Not my cup of tea. Too hot for me. Spent 18 months in Libya and that was enough for me

Blue, white, yellow and orange are colors that always look happy together. I can see the edge of possibly a sign on the ridge. Seeing that I figured it was a park. I think it's a shame so few of us get to see much more than our local areas. We have been lucky to see a good many US parks and a few in Canada. I wish we lived near one of the national parks but even our state parks are about an hour away. I am thankful we have a small lake a block away even if it is surrounded by private homes with only a few points of access and those have been left to deteriorate. I think residents in our settlement should at least have a fishing pier that goes out a ways into the lake. Even with a boat since there's no parking place it would be difficult for non-waterside residents to enjoy the water.
The original map of the settlement has many more access points but the waterside residents have closed them off. :-(
