Should have waited to do this puzzle nearer to Easter. Always liked to color eggs with my little kids, however ours were never as intricate as these are! Nice colorful puzzle.
Love to go to one of the workshops and make some myself, I do a lot of craft and enjoy it a and it would be one more crate I have go to know to keep me enjoying it. Nice Puzzle.
My niece in law is of Ukrainian heritage, and it is a really cool thing, to watch them make decorated eggs....we have a big Ukrainian population here, and they have workshops and festivals galore..
Growing up I've seen eggs like these - they used melted wax. Those eggs were hollowed out and real. Those eggs were so intricate. You can tell those owners spent hours on them. The local dept. store had put on an exhibit and they were on display.
I do them like this on real eggs! My mom taught me years ago and I still carry on the tradition!

Yes Toadalove, it can be done on real eggs as well, they do in the part of the world I'm from, but in this case these are wood eggs - if you look closely you can see the indentation that the lathe left on them at the bottom...
