I love this scene. The out side is so cold and snowy and the inside is so cozy and inviting. The lights and a nice hot cup of tea or coffee.

With apologies to the composer of the real song, "Soon it's gonna to snow....I just know it. Soon it's gonna snow and what am I gonna do???? ". Why do I live in Northern Illinois? Oh, yeah, my husband and my family. They are worth more than winter complaints! Have a blessed day, all!

Nope. That's from the Fantastiks and it's soon it's gonna rain...I can feel it. Soon it's gonna rain...I can tell. Soon it's gonna rain, what're we gonna do?

One of my favorite songs is "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow"...I live in Colorado, near Denver, and we haven't had any moisture since it rained last summer. We NEED the snow!! Even the mountains are crying for snow! If the mountains don't get snow, not only do the ski resorts suffer, but we won't have any water reserves next summer. As for me, I'm a winter girl all the way! I Love the Snow!!

I lived in Fort Collins for a year when my ex-husband got a scholarship for to study natural resources. I loved Colorado and the mountains and the snow did not bother me.....age can be the pits. I envy you and the beauty that the mountains have blessed in Colorado.

Howard, I lived in Ft Collins for 4 years during college. We loved it there! It was so green in the summers, and all the seasons were beautiful! The college life was great - made lots of life-long friends. But alas, we graduated and had to get grown up jobs...and they were all in Denver!

Okay, Joyce. I'm sending a prayer for some good snow storms to hit CO. I visited DEnver some years ago and then went on a circuit to Manitou Springs, Black Canyon (that winter Gunnison had had 10 feet of snow), Crested Butte, Salidas, Lk. Dillon. To me your state is tied with Utah for most beautiful.
I liked the song Snow from White Chjristmas.

Thanks for the prayers, Pixi! Since I grew up in Colorado, I've been to most of those places...But I'm sad to report about Lake Dillon. This year has been so dry, all the lakes are really low, but I cried when we drove past Lake Dillon. It's almost dry. There are large areas where you could walk all the way across without getting a toe wet...(sniff) The snow level needs to be phenomenal this year or we're going to big in BIG trouble next summer! Keep those prayers going!

BTW, White Christmas is one of my favorite movies! ALL of the songs! Hugs, Joyce

Wow. Were the buildings the lake covered up in view? I did a pastel of that lake. It's hanging in my bedroom.

I don't remember ever hearing about buildings being covered up, but if there were any, they've all disappeared by now! There was just a lot of mud, docks, and a couple boats. I saw a lake with a town under it in Wyoming once. It's on the Teton side of the state. It was fascinating to look at! Lake Dillon has deep parts that still have water in them, so it's still beauitful from some vantage points.

I just remember at a visitor center by Lake Dillon they mentioned the town that was flooded and how divers could still see the buildings. Maybe you saw a different area of the lake. It's very big.

You're probably right. There was a large part of the lake the was deeper than the part we saw.

Pixi - this is part of ParsonWyne's message

"
I am doing fine and turned 82 since the last time I talked to you. I finally got a job at a nursing home as the chaplain. I have a service there every Sunday, and go over there on Wednesday to visit the residents.

Our pastor has had covid for the last 2 weeks so I've been preaching in his place at three churches, and playing the piano and organ at two of the churches, then driving 1 hour to the nursing home to hold a service there. I'll be doing that again this Sunday."

He is going to post a Christmas message on here soon. Hugs

Pretty puzzle. haven't seen snow for years. A couple times in 28 years have seen a small layer that was gone the next day. I was born in Iowa and saw a lot of snow until we moved to Kansas when I was 14. Had some snow there but not much.

Had snow here last week. Not a snow bunny. I did ski a little when younger. Might come back to this but liked the bow pasta one which I missed because I had company. :-)
Have a happy day.
