We grew white corn one year. It was neat to see it grow and mature. When my kids were little I used to grow stuff every year so they could see how it grew. One year we grew peanuts - very neat to see the results. The problem was, the squirrels dug into the peanuts and we had peanuts growing all over our yard...and the neighbors yards!

Yes. There were some very busy squirrels burying those nuts everywhere. lol
In earlier days when my family visited my mother's brother's family in Pennsylvania in the summer, my cousin and I would go to a local farm and get corn for roasting that had just been picked. Within the hour we wrapped the corn in burlap and put it on the outdoor fire.
Oh--- the result was heavenly!
Pretty photo and right now farmers are tilling their land in order to plant the corn, wheat and soy beans all around this area.
