I am making a turkey dinner as we did not have a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner this year. Finally set up in my new home, no school until the 16th, so I am making up for it. Just my hubby and me staying warm and safe. Happy New Year Catlady.

Sounds like you are ready for celebration. I haven't had to much this year, we have a daughter that lives near to us so she has taken over this year for me, since I've been in a cast on my arm since before Thanksgiving, also she is in her early 40's so it's about time for her to take over. She is a teacher here in Moore so she has time off during the Holidays...she has turned out to be real good cook.

Sorry about your Sweety. You are lucky to have a daughter who can help you. My daughter is 32 and is400 miles from me. It is just my hubby Joe and me. She lives on one side of PA and my son lives on the other. Being in VA I am pretty much right in the middle. I love hearing that your daughter is a teacher. I am back in school for my teaching degree. I don't think I am going for my Masters but my Bachelors can get me in private school which is where I want to teach. My other option is becoming a paraprofessional. At my age of 60, my options may be limited.

Sounds like you keep busy w/school & getting into a new house...more than I could handle. Our daughter teaches Special Ed at the largest high school of the thee here in Moore. We have a son to but can't seem to get him out of the house, just kidding he is on the road most of the time, in fact he left Sun to head back to Wisc. He works with cell phones & other transmission signals so he is gone most of the time, but keeps his room here as his home base. He is just a couple years younger than his sister. He keeps my computer going for me. You are younger than I am will turn 74 in June. Hubby broke is neck in the late 80's & he gets around with just one crutch, but he keeps me busy helping him with things he can't do. We also have one old cat that also keeps me busy. I try to hide out & do puzzle's in my spare time. Have a great vacation from school, & enjoy your new home.

Thank you Sweety. I am going to concentrate also on Sec Ed. when I finish school. I worked as parapro in a school for kids with multiple disabilities and fell in love with it.That is what is driving me to become a teacher. I worked mostly with K-2 but did high school and junior as well. These kids are so amazing.I admire your daughter for her love of working with such beautiful kids. I hope your son has safety in his travels. You sound like a very busy lady also. I know what it is like taking care of a spouse, kids, pets, and trying to keep our sanity,. We really need to get together. God bless your heart. Hope you have a blessed and wonderful 2017.

I'm celebrating today...Just got back from doctor, got the cast off the arm, go back again in 6 wks. if I don't have full range of arm and wrist, but he thinks that won't be necessary so if I'm doing okay I can cancel the appt. He says the typing will be great for it. Next thing is to get blood pressure under control again will see that doctor later this month. He wants me to exercise more, but also have been on that med. for over 10 yrs & it may need to be changed. Think we also got our staples, weather has changed & we could get some snow later this week, we so we can stay in and warm! Keep in touch when you have time.

Hopefully things cool down for you - I know parts of Australia can get incredibly hot during your summers and there can be problems with wildfires.

Stay cool and have a very Happy New Year!!

Hi all, Happy New Year. Mine is not getting off to a good start, my phone stopped working last night and when you try to get help, instead of Australian agents, get people from the Phillipines or other foreign countries whose first language is NOT English and almost impossible to deal with. They said they would fix it last night, but guess what???? Still no phone. Very frustrating. Hugs.

We have the same problem with customer service agents in America. Well, not in America because they're overseas and don't speak fluent English.Getting them to understand the problem and understanding their answers is difficult. I hope your phone gets working soon. Happy New Year.

I hope you get your phone fixed soon! I love it when you get someone from India who claims his name is Bruce or her name is Mary.

LOL - we mostly get people from the Philippines here and they too have English sounding names. I ended up fixing it myself, then it went out again last night and I spent ages in the heat while the "agent" was guessing at what could be wrong. I gave up in the end and turned it off at the wall which resets it and without a phone or the internet for about half an hour. At least it is working again, but for how long???? Your guess is as good as mine. Hugs.
