I love popcorn and could eat it all day but the kernels aren't good with my teeth anymore.

I can't eat it because of my digestion. Everything corn bothers it including taco shells. :-(

Oh my! I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't eat corn on the cob or grits.

Ewwww grits! I tried it once when living in Louisiana and that was enough lol. To each his own. Hugs.

Grits, oatmeal, anything like that is a no for me just because I don't like the texture.

Same for me with oatmeal.

I can't stand oatmeal - it's like eating wallpaper paste (not that I know what wallpaper paste tastes like but oatmeal seems to fit the bill).

aw, aussie, too bad you don't like grits. One of our favorites around here (either plain grits [with butter & salt] or cheese grits) - with bacon & french toast (or waffles), with pork chops, with fish, or just a nice bowl of grits with a good cup of coffee. :)

Hold the grits but I'll take all the other stuff--that is if I'm invited. ;-)

That was a hilarious description of oatmeal!

I love grits (not instant, though). The only way I like oatmeal is with too much water - kinda like an oatmeal soup. The other hot breakfast we had growing up was cream of wheat. My favorite was Cocoa Wheats. Actually found a box of those at the grocery store a couple years back and just had to buy them. Tasted exactly how I remembered.

The only hot cereal I have ever liked is Malto Meal. I still eat it whenever it is cold.

I like cream of wheat. I have to take medicine in powder form so I don't eat many different breakfasts any more. I am trying using yoghurt instead of pudding to cut down on sugar. Something as blad as CoW or oatmeal would let the medicine taste prevail.

Pixi, you're ALWAYS invited! :)

Thanks KNadine.

Karen, oatmeal soup sounds gross. But I liked cream of wheat when I was growing up.

Trynfindit, I liked all of those when I was really little but as I grew, I became sensitive to textures pretty quickly.

Today a year ago my son died. He was pronounced dead at 1 am and we were given the news by a policeman at 6 am. It was a Sunday. That Friday my son had sent a picture of his daughter via email so I had no clue he was going to die. I am thankful to have been brought up believing in everlasting life and the forgiveness of Jesus. He promised all tears will be wiped away.
Wishing you all a day of faith and hope.

My condolences. I can't imagine losing a child, but losing a loved one, is one of the most difficult things to go through. Some psychologists use a chart to determine the amount of stress a person is going through - from what I remember loss of a spouse or child is at the top of the list.

Pixi, you have my deepest sympathy. There is a group called "Compassionate Friends". They helped me deal with the death of my own son six years ago. You can find them on face book; just type in "compassionate friends" and there are several groups. I am with the group for suicide and suicide survivors. You can also go into their website and if you need any help, let me know and I can help you through it. I am also on Facebook. If you want, I will also give you my page. This group is for anyone who lost a child, whether it be for illness, accident, or suicide. Please remember, you are not alone. There are so many of us who have and are still walking in your shoes. God bless you in this rough time.
PS These are groups that are private so no one can come and make snide remarks as I have heard such as "get over it". It does not work that way. Love and many blessings.

Dear mamag...Thank you for being so open and willing to help me. My husband and I avoid social media almost totally. Those groups sound wonderful but I am not on facebook, Twitter or any thing like that. It would rob me of any peace of mind so I thank you but my husband and I will be help to eachother--at least for now it seems to be working. If things should change I will save this post of yours.
Thank you for being such a good friend.

You are so welcome Honey. If you feel you need to talk to someone on a more professional note, there are chapters of Compassionate Friends all over the country. Please keep me posted as to how you and your husband are doing. This can be such a stressful time. I pray you and your husband stay strong together. God is good and He is a just and Sovereign God. Faithful is our Lord. God bless you my Dear and your husband as well.

You wouldn't pop this corn as it isn't popcorn. This looks to me like field corn that you feed to animals. I could be corny but I think I'm right.

always be yourself. its okay if others don't like it. just keep looking, and eventually you'll find someone who understands you. could take a while, though! ;)
