I could go for one of these right now, with some butter or cream cheese on it. Oh, gotta have some coffee with it too!

It is a neat large single serving idea, very pretty. Has anyone else noticed that over the years muffins have gotten much sweeter, as well as much larger. Must be 3X the calories.

It's the same with everything. Nothing can just be a normal size with standard features. Everything has to be super sized with every additional bell and whistle. I call it unnecessary deluxification.

Yep everything is now super sized. Watched a documentary regarding the fast food industry. The segment featured McDonalds and how bad the food is for our bodies. The results were quite alarming!

De-luxification would be the removal of luxury, just as delousing is removal of lice. Enluxification would be more precise.

Sorry, sleepless night, English tutor, knee-jerk reaction. :)

If you remember the 40's & 50's, anything supposedly very special and above grade was called deluxe. In this case the de was not a prefix and so did not signify the subtraction of the quality It denoted. Note the de of denoted does not subtract the note quality either. If I had used a hyphen you would be correct but I didn't and I believe the word is exclusive to me because I coined it.
Sorry back at you--Milton Edelman English award for creative writing.
Good to hear from you and have an intelligent discussion. ;-)

Yes, they have, Coravee. Personally, I just like to make them myself from a Jiffy mix if I am using the oven anyway. Simple foods made at home are often more satisfying, anyway.

I bake my muffins in a cupcake pan, not in ramekins. It seems to me that placing all those ramekins in the oven then taking them out again would be very time consuming. Is there a reason for using them that makes it worth the time?

God bless you all.

They might be thinking it's a desirable way to serve them at the table. I think it would be nice.

I use a spray (one for cakes) they come out of my corning ramekins just fine. They make a larger muffin so you also have to watch the time.
