Such pretty cookies. Took longer than I thought to do it.

Good morning/evening all. We have another rainy day. My rain barrels aren't feeding as they should so some are overflowing near the house foundation. I'm hoping to fix them later today.
Cookies make a good puzzle but how about some pie for a change?
I'm a big fan of pie...especially cherry.
Off to breakfast. Have a fun day all. Puzzle away and chase the gray.

Know what you mean Pixi. With this deluge we've been having, both my barrel systems are unable to handle it. In a rare sunny moment this weekend, my son did clean the filters and they're doing some better. I'll bless them when it's so dry later this summer though!

Hi pixipixil, I didn't know that people still used rain barrels. When I was a kid we had a song we would sing as we did a clapping rhythm. Part of it said "..climb up my apple tree, slide down my rain barrel, slide down my cellar door, and we'll be jolly friends for evermore, more, more, more, more, more. Hope everyone is having a great day today!

Pie sounds so good right now. I like any kind--fruit, cream, pumpkin, as long as I have vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to put on top I am as happy as a bug on a rug!

You and me both, terabyte. I need that ice cream to set it off but I'll take some other flavor like pistachio on mine. We have a well and they put in a development on the surrounding hills that pulled most of the ground water out. Luckily we did not yet lose our well but in the drier months my garden takes an hour of watering so I try to supplement the well supply with rain barrel water. They are actually used industrial food barrels. I used to be able to get them for $15 each but entrepreneurs have since convinced businesses only too glad to get rid of them to save them all for the entrepreneurs who clean them, put in a spout and charge $100 each. I am trying my best to make mine last.

Went to crafting this afternoon. We had a special cake to finish up with ice cream. Rhubarb Lunar Cake. It was yummy!

The Mennonites make a wonderful Rhubarb Streusel pie and I would say that is my favourite followed closely by Cherry pie.

I like rhubard, too, Taffi. But am familiar only when mixed with strawberries. In our first house we had a clump growing wild so always could get some.

Knadine, thank you for your good wishes. Unfortunately other problems kept me from my rain barrels today. I clipped a tire on a curb courtesy of a huge flatbed truck driver who decided to turn into the street I was on and signaled me to pull around. I could not see the curb and curbs are usually pretty low and curved. This one was high and had sharp edges. It cost me a new tire and the loss of hours at the repair shop. Considering my son was convinced I completely totaled the bottom of my car I was relieved it was only a tire.

I just had buttermilk pie back in the winter. A friend made me one. It was so good. I made a pinto bean pie. I found the recipe on the computer. I have a easy pecan pie you don't use syrup. I let the grandkids make it

Dbnc Funny you should mention Pecan Pie that is my nemesis I can not get one to set up I have used up so many pecans just trying to make it its either too runny or too hard which means in one case I didn't cook it long enough and in the other, I cooked it too long it tasted fine just lacked setting up I am the same with Pecan Pie as I was making the perfect biscuit I now have the biscuits conquered but not the pie...help help if there is a website, dbnc, please let me know and I will surely try again...thanks Have a great day and God Bless

Did you ever try adding some cornstarch? I'd swear any pies I've had used it.

Katygirltoo I have searched for a web sight for the pecan pie but haven't found one like mine. My sister gave it to me years ago. I never made pecan pies until then and have used it ever year since. I don't like them but my family does. I don't know if I would be allowed to post the recipe on here or not. I really love this puzzle sight. I check it ever morning.

My father said there were only 2 kinds of pie that he liked: hot and cold. I love custard pie or a fresh peach pie.

I love apple/minced best. Then cherry. I make extra crust and put cinnamon, sugar and nuts and raisins in it and roll it into a loaf. 2 goodies for the price of one.

These are gorgeous. If they taste half as good as they look I'll take three dozen. They remind me of Persian ceramic tile designs...except those would probably be turquoise and white.
I can tell this puzzle will be hard but I'm ready.
