Fun to do in the 164 Circle cut. Usually work with the higher piece cuts, but gave into seeing what it was like, and I might just choose it again in the future.

Rainbow colors of embroidery thread. I've not used this type of thread since I was a kid.

Such pretty colours - thought it was knitting wool at first then read the description.

News about my friend Lyn in New Zealand. I called her a few days ago and she is now home after about four weeks in hospital. She sounded very weak and hoarse, but is glad to be home and thankful for all the prayers. She has to stay in bed for the moment until she recovers a bit more. Thank you to all those who have prayed for my friend.

Good news about Lyn! She's been through quite an ordeal, both mentally & physically, but has come through. Still praying!

Buscaglia's quote is so appropriate for me today - I'm going to a local nursing home to give manicures to 2 ladies there. I've done this every week since March, 2005. A touch means so much to the residents - you should see the smiles! No, I'm not a saint - far from it! Just my way of giving back for the blessings I've been granted.

Aknan, my church had an ice cream social tonight and showed slides of our pastor and one of the elders visiting a sister church in Fairbanks AK. It looked interesting and they visited in March and showed some of the sights there. It looked like a really "cool" place!

It would definitely be "cool" in March! That's when we go up for the ice sculptures - bet we were there at the same time.

The slides they showed us was a park made out of ice sculptures! They were incredibly beautiful!

Olamae, I wish both you and aussie could see them for real. The detail is incredible, the ice is beautifully clear and it's harvested from a pond right by the Ice Park. You also would marvel at the sheer size of the sculptures - some are over 25 feet tall and 40 feet long. One year, they even carved a wedding chapel from the ice. The bride left her flowers on the altar - white roses. Such a treat to see this each year!

I remember when my mom was in nursing home. She was in her nineties. All she wanted was hand & back rub, some Robitussin(? ) & to tell me I was getting fat & how could I ever see anything out of my new glasses, & I needed a new haircut. Her joy seemed to be when my son came for a visit --put her in her wheelchair & sped her around the floor. Now, remember, I'd get killed if I ever did this--but he probably got double gold stars. One April school vacation, I took my daughter down the Main Line in Philadelphia to see mom. We had a terrible storm, lost power (we were staying in a lovely B&B) & upon waking saw 10 inches of snow & trees down all over. Of course, my darling had packed nothing but shorts & T-shirts. Not good! Since we were so close to Villanova, we found a Gap store & she scored just about a whole new wardrobe there. Now, keep in mind, I had been trained by my BFF on how to pack--I needed nothing! By the next day, all snow & broken trees were gone. We went to Phil. Zoo & told my mom we were going on a hot air balloon trip--boy, if looks could kill, But...but...it was FUN!

My children could get away with things I never could with my mother too! I am glad you have that wonderful memory of you and your daughter. Those are things that make life easier, I believe when the hard times come!

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well. Pretty colored embroidery thread. Love to embroider, Mom taught me when I was really young. For some reason I was never able to learn to knit or crochet. Oh well to each his own. You all be safe and will hear from me again when it doesn't hurt to sit up with this brace on.

Get to feeling better soon darambo. I can't embroider but I used to crochet. I can't do that anymore because of the arthritis in my fingers. I still do plastic canvas and it is like embroidery except you you use yarn and a bigger needle.

Darambo--My mom also tried to teach me to knit & crochet when I was much younger--I just figured if she did it, why should I? So I switched to cross embroidery (counted & marked) & took professional sewing lessons with my sister in law. Do you by chance know how to clean the x-stitched sampler? It's quite old now.

BayGrannie, it's very difficult to successfully clean old needlework. I suggest contacting a museum conservator for suggestions and/or assistance, especially if there is a great deal of sentimental value to the piece.

I can't crochet and knit knots and can't hardly sew buttons on. In fact my dad used to do sewing when I needed it. I was not taught any of these skills. Maybe someday I might try again. Feel well soon darambo.

Thank you Darambo for reminding me how lucky I am! I am truly humbled! I hope that you get some comfort soon and heal well. The pain I feel is a dull throb that starts from my ankle and goes into my lower leg. I can't imagine having to wear a brace such as you are. God bless you and keep you. I don't have to wear it that long only 6-8 wks. I will be keeping you in my prayers and thoughts! Blessings and hugs :

I don't do it often, it can be just too hard and discouraging. Puzzles like this one, however, make it easier so I will go for it.
