Beautiful colors. Took me quite a while. I had knee surgery Sep. 19th. Things are going very well. My husband is gone for the week to Huston to help with flood victims. He is working with 8 Days of Hope. Although I could have used him home to help me. I insisted he go as he loves to help. He went with a team from our church that is sending groups out every week. They will take a two week break then start heading to Florida to help there. My husband has been on 23 mission trips, it is his heart to serve. Our oldest son lives next door and with friends coming and a sister I was well cared for. He comes home Saturday very late. So excited to here the stories and see what God is doing in Huston.

How is your knee doing now that time has passed? Did you hear a lot of stories about your husband's trips? I hope this finds you well and happy.

Rahrah1820, my knee is doing great. Still not real fast with going down stair, but fast coming up so progress for sure. Yes I did hear lots of stories about my husbands trip to Texas with 8 days of hope. Oct 13th they are planing another trip to rebuild. He hopes to go on that one as well. They worked on 700 homes and a few churches and schools. He loves to go. I go with him when I am able. But this trip they are asking for skilled workers. I can't get on a latter anymore although I love to paint and I am good at it. Will have to see what I would be able to do to earn my keep if I go. LOL. I know they appreciate help in the kitchen to prepare the meals as they feed you while you are there. But usually when he goes on missions I use the time to visit all my sisters as I have 5 of them to catch up. And do special things with friends. I still don't like the fact I can't get down on the knee as yet and they say might not. So have to realize I am getting older and will have to come to terms to ask for help, like my corners doing my floors and the tops of wood work to dust and my ceiling fans etc. I just have to adjust to let people help me. I know many will relate to this I am sure. Don't want to be an old hard head! LOL. Thanks for asking!

It sounds like your healing process is right on target. I can see where you'd have more trouble going down stairs rather than up. Have you tried leading with the other leg? That might take some pressure off your new & improved one. lol When I had cataract surgery in both eyes, my dear son in love told me to ask the surgeon to make one of them bionic. lol If only! That would sure be interesting, wouldn't it? The trips you all go on sound so exciting. Helping others is so good for us. I can see though, why you'd need to wait a bit longer. Five sisters? wow I had six brothers and 3 sisters, I would like to have traded a couple of them in, but my parents were against it! I'm down to two brothers and one sister now, and one of the brothers is someone I have nothing to do with. Enjoy your time with your sisters, I'm sure there will be lots of giggles and tears, after all, that's what sisters do when we get together. :)

Wow! you had a big family! We had a brother, he passed 3 years ago. I am the oldest of the pack and then my brother. We were very close. He lived the closest to me and we visited every week and had coffee. He was my coffee pal. I miss him a lot. I am 70 this year and my baby sister is 59 so we are all getting up there. It is hard when siblings have to say good. And yes I am leading with the other leg and yes that works out pretty good. I think having a bionic would be loads of fun. You could tell them kids Hey I see you way over there. LOL. I will be saying good-by to two great grand kids today as they are returning back to Florida. It was fun spending some time with them they are 4 and 2 a girl and boy. The other 3 I get to see most every day as my son who lives next door babysits them for his daughter. We are all pretty close and I love that, most of the time. I am in Michigan, where are you? Nice chatting with ya and happy puzzling! I sure do love it next to knitting.

I love puzzling, too, and the conversations as well. I'm in Tucson, AZ. We've been having quite the heat wave. It hit 121 in Phoenix the other day. I lived there on the day it hit 122, many years ago. UGH! I'll be 66 in a week, and my oldest sister will be 71 two weeks after that. My other brother is around 76 or so. Then we have one more brother who's 73, but we don't talk with him, he's a real scoundre. So, it's basically the three of us left. My brother & sister live in Prescott (100 miles north of Phx) with their spouses. This next month will be bringing a lot of change as I'm moving in with my daughter's family. They've asked me to, so they can help me out with a few things. It's wonderful to be loved, isn't it? I know what you mean about missing your brother. My youngest (15 months younger) brother passed away in January. We were best buds and I was afraid for a bit that I wouldn't be able to carry on without him. Another brother passed away 15 months before that, so our family is dwindling down rapidly. That could have something to do with my kids wanting me closer to them, maybe they're trying to keep me longer! lol Where are you located?

I am located in Casnovia, MI. A supper small town. Lived here 50 years of our married 52 years. We are very blessed to live on a lake and have a nice home. My oldest son lives right next door to us and my middle son right in back of us. We live on a nice two track about 1/2 mile long. So private drive. We have a nice swim area and lake stuff to play with as pontoon boat, paddle boat and kyacks. We keep a nice sandy beach area so kids can have endless hours of fun. We are out in the country as well surrounded by mainly apple orchards. I didn't think I told you my brother and I weren't even a year apart. The same age for a little bite. A lot of people always asked if we were twins. I have been working a lot in the yard, I love to have a nice yard, it is landscaped and have lots of flowers but lots, lots of work. I know I will have to ask for help next year. So glad we go to a good church that has lots of young people and I can go talk with the youth pastor and let him pick out a teen that would like to spend some time with me and put some jiggle in their pockets. LOL. Moving in with family is a wonderful thing most of the time. Make sure you have a space that is just yours to disappear to some times. We joke with our sons (I have 3 boys and no daughters) about who will take care of us. I don't think we will have to move into their place cause our homes are just steps away very close. In fact our sidewalk connects with their walk way. And my son is very talented with camera's and speakers and such they will just watch us from there to here. We go south for the winters we stay in Orange Beach Alabama. Our oldest son goes as well as he works from any where in the world. So nice to have some family away from home. We get our own places though. Well that is it for now. We had a nice rain today and it has cooled down. When we were first married we lived in Tucson, AZ on 400 stone street. A little adobe apartment. Was only there a year. But we loved it.

I know the area of Tucson in which you lived. You'd be surprised at how the once small town has grown. I've only been here 18 years and have seen a lot of change. Your home and property sound lovely. It's wonderful to have family near, isn't it? I want to spend my summers with you! lol It was 121 degrees in Phoenix last week, so you know Tucson wasn't much lower.

Yes, I have my own room I can retreat to anytime. They've really gone all out to set it up for me. I will respect their privacy as well. They know I've lived alone for a long time, so I think we're pretty much on the same page there.

Look Around You

and a heaven in a wildflower,

hold infinity in the palm of your hand

and eternity in an hour."

-William Blake

Take care and God bless. Hugs.
